@robjon99@CelebriniBetter Yea, I was hoping we’d either package the 9 and 27 (and something else if needed) to move up several places in the draft or trade for a solid D upgrade. But we need another team who wants to do a deal and maybe that doesn’t exist.
@robjon99#shsharks Agreed. Either the trade market has just gotten too expensive this week, or we’re waiting for other deals to be completed before we can close. I’d hoped to package 9, 27, and a prospect for a D. I don’t think that’s likely to happen now. Hope I’m wrong.
@Real_Max_Miller With a weak free agent class and average draft group, it seems like the trade market has gotten more expensive. Do you see the Sharks giving an offer sheet to a young RFA D? (Anaheim and LAK come to mind.)
@Real_Max_Miller Are you aware of any trade discussions for another D that might happen before the draft? The Reilly deal seems to have gone dark. #sjsharks
@Real_Max_Miller Most likely we pick third unless Mike Grier can make a trade. We will likely also have picks around #30 (Dallas’ pick) and #33 in addition to #3, so it’s possible…. Particularly if the team winning the lottery is deep in D prospects.
@BenKaspick What is Marco Luciano’s future with the Giants? The Giants don’t appear to have any confidence in his defense, and his not hustling down the first base line was a horrible look from your future all-star talent. What are the chances they trade him this offseason?
@Sheng_Peng Some of the defensive issues this year seemed more about mental lapses and being out of position as opposed to talent. They never seemed to be coached-up.
@Sheng_Peng I was wondering about this. For a bad team, they often played way too soft. I was a Cow Palace season ticket holder, and those Sharks teams lacked talent but played a physical, in-your-face style that made it more difficult for talented teams.
@Sheng_Peng Can someone explain this trade? Why would we choose to trade our UFA goalie to take on another goalie who’s under contract for another year at $3M+?
@Chipper408 Yes! Stupid move by the Kings. It would be unfair to Quinn given what he’s had to do this year, but McLellan is a great coach and would be a huge upgrade. #sjsharks
@Sheng_Peng EK65 signed up for this deal, and he’s getting paid handsomely. Sharks owe him nothing and need to look out for their own best interests. If the deal no longer works for both parties, they should agree to cancel it. EK65 will be fine financially, regardless.
@Sheng_Peng I think the key question here is how much is it worth to EK65 at this stage of his career to have a run at a Stanley Cup? He has already earned more money than most fans will ever see in a lifetime. At some point, other factors may be more important than money.
