With a photoshoot in full swing and the new Ariana blasting from the speakers, there’s no one more comfortable than the pair at the center of it all as they pose for the camera: Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the stars of Can’t Buy Me Love.

“I always call DonBelle the pandemic love team,” director Mae Cruz-Alviar says. “They started with mostly streaming projects. So this is their first to be known in the mainstream on free TV and Netflix [at the same time], and that's a big thing for them.”

“Now they're doing scenes that are heavier,” she adds. “They're doing scenes na talagang heavy drama, and the romance is not just, you know, like high school. It's romance on a deeper level. You're talking about someone you want to spend your life with, and the characters are very deep characters going through a lot.”

Right now, though, Belle’s only problem is getting Donny’s attention long enough for them to say goodbye—he’s off early to attend to another engagement, like the busy in-demand young star that he is. While he’s preoccupied with a manager, she begins a cute countdown: “Ten, nine, eight…”

Eventually, inevitably, his attention is all hers, and he tells her they’ll see each other soon. She’s all smiles as she sees him off.
