For further inspiration for my play, can you share either personal stories or collective stories you heard about some of the craziness that has happened during COVID? Thanks!
Death.
Face death.
We face death.
We face death alone.
We face death alone together.
Why don’t we face death alone together?
Why don’t we face death alone together more?
Why don’t we face death fiercely alone together more?
Why don’t we face all death…
Excited to be a part of the fall issue with @tiltedhousenola ! Thank you for printing a small excerpt of my first full length play, “Fanna fi Hayati: Love, Sex Work, and the Sacred”!
Enjoy!
@Gv12Karen My first full length play to be produced this next year in Bend, OR. entitled, “Fanna fi Hayati: Love, Sex Work, and the Sacred,” and a book of poetry called, “Laid Bare”. Proud to be a multi-genre writer!
Grateful to partially debut “Fanna fi Hayati: Love, Sex Work, and the Sacred” in the upcoming issue of #tiltedhouse! Much of the source experience happened in NOLA, so makes sense NOLA should have the first crack 😉 🌈🙌

Please consider giving whatever amount you can. No amount is too small and a little goes a long way in Burma. Thank you for your support and consideration. Please share widely

Friends,
A dear friend and former student of mine from Burma has been wrongfully arrested/imprisoned as a journalist for the Dawei Women's Union. She has been sentenced to three years in a notorious prison run by the military junta.

Khin Thi was always kind, sweet, and humble. She could laugh at herself and challenged herself linguistically in my classes and like many of our students, went on to continuously work in the interest of social/political justice and liberation, especially for women in Burma.
She has a young son, and is a survivor of domestic violence. We are raising money for her child and family, as well as for potential advocacy for her release as a political prisoner.
