@amywrites2 it’s actually quite good and there’s much more content to it (the 2005 version captures the story well but leaves out a lot of in between scenes and i appreciated seeing the story in its entirety)
not me realizing how much PTSD the lydia/wickham situation probably gave mr darcy. i always thought of it from the POV of him caring about how it would affect elizabeth and feeling guilt for not exposing wickham sooner but i didn’t even think about the reminder of his own sister.
some things i’m noticing in rewatching the BBC pride and prejudice:
- i never realized how similar jennifer ehle and kiera knightly look
- jennifer ehle looks too old to play 21 year old lizzy bennet. kiera knightly plays a more age accurate elizabeth
@hippiesuck_ it’s the fluorescent lights, the being surrounded by poor quality, mass marketed garbage, and the music being the kind they play in the 6th circle of hell
