I think I will cry sha when we are done because the emails I get on a daily, chai🥺. People are writing emails to cinemas in their country to bring this film there. God bless you all for real mehn🥺
You get pregnant and the man leaves you. 👀
Society calls YOU a whore.
Calls the baby a bastard. 😭
But somehow there’s never a shameful name for the man who walked away.
Any marriage that you have to be checking your husband’s phone to be sure he is not sleeping around count me out
Any marriage that you need a DNA test to be sure the woman you’re lying on the same bed with every night actually carried your baby, count me out
There's a lot trending and being talked about but three villages invaded and children stolen
Parents in pain and fear for their children? Very little word..
we have accepted this a normal 💔
2-7 year olds and we are going about our lives
No collective rage
Just numbness

God is good. I’m grateful🙏🏾
What I like about jury duty for film festivals is that I get to see some really good films before they come to cinema or streaming
There are some really good films out there and sadly sometimes they do not do as well as some not great ones
Saw some good ones recently
🙏🏾
Adjani Salmon shot the 45th draft of his script as the pilot..wrote those versions during the lock down. That pilot got him a BAFTA, an international Emmy nomination and eventually got A24 to notice. He started the webseries in 2018...there's no such thing as sudden combustion!
during labor 2 yrs ago, my wife kept saying something felt wrong 😢
the monitors showed the baby’s heart rate dipping then recovering, then dipping again. she asked about a c-section but the doctor kept reframing it.. your progressing, let’s not rush, your body was made for this etc... it was packaged as encouragement but it felt abruptly like dismissal.
after several hours of this cycle, i stepped in and said plainly... we are requesting surgery.
now the tone in the room shifted, paperworks were signed and moved then the OR was suddenly available, the urgency they had been negotiating became immediate as i spoke just one word
same situation, same data but a different messenger.
what stayed with her wasn’t just the fear, but it was the realization that her repeated “something isn’t right” carried less weight than a single firm sentence from a man, me... most times it’s not just what’s said but who says it determines whether it’s taken seriously and that gap can have real consequences and it’s a clear medical misogyny.
Dammy and I have been talking about making a feature together for a while, glad we’re finally here. We made such a gorgeous film. Beautifully directed by him. Incredibly proud. Call Of My Life in cinemas - May 15th! #COML
Today is the 12th anniversary of Amaka's passing and I remember her words, her impact and the legacy of all her good work..learned a lot about the craft from her as well... school can teach you but apprenticeship with a great team is 🔑
Rest on friend...
