@angel_asaka What are any of these acronyms? Modern Warfare? Morrowind? You think the average person is just going to KNOW a game they’ve never heard of after only two letters? Spell it out 🤨
@KawirWir HP will have more viewership than any of these examples. But that does not mean it’s immune to the same problems. Like how Marvel wasn’t immune to falling viewership after their multiple fails. By your metrics you shouldn’t include Marvel because it made 20+ BILLION more dollars.
@KawirWir There is also no reason to exclude PJ from the conversation. I am talking about whether an unfaithful book-to-TV adaption affects viewership and perception. I am not comparing profitability. HP can be profitable and still retain less viewers by season if it isn’t faithful.
@Mgkman13@mufc_micky like it’s laughable you’re so stuck on whether HP is “bigger” or more successful financially. like no shit? sherlock. i’m talking about FAITHFUL BOOK-TO-TV ADAPTIONS. They are BOTH adaptions, it doesn’t matter how big or small they are. Learn some reading comprehension.
@Mgkman13 What does the scale of the IP have to do with whether it will be similar to the books or a let down?? you’re looking at the completely wrong things. I do not think HP series is going to fail harder than percy jackson lmao
@Mgkman13 i’m not talking about numbers, but perception. obviously HP is going to draw in a bigger crowd and generate more money even if it doesn’t turn out to be good.
@ooswaldsyy HBO… the producers of the infamous GOT final seasons?? the infamous 4 year gap between Euphoria seasons??
i agree HP has a cult following not comparable, but HBO is not god lmao.
@linedupjuju almost every adaption is “for the book readers” created by the “book readers”. Ryan Condal said he read F&B “more than anyone on earth” yet his House of the Dragon adaption had even the author venting about it
only time will tell. which is why i think it will succeed... at first
@mufc_micky rick riordan is co-creator of the new PJ series and he SUPPORTS all the changes it’s made from the books. how did that do for him with falling viewership (over 60%!!) and constant critism from book fans? you think HP is safe from the flaws that the majority of adaptions face?
@mufc_micky it does not “disagree” with my assumptions lmao. my take is not HP failing as an IP. if more people are reading/listening to the book than more people are expecting it to follow it. based on the 20+ failed TV adaptions, there is a higher chance of it NOT being to YOUR assumptions
@_makeupurmind@Kamalfalilat Corlys literally ASKED for his last name to be Velaryon??? It’s literally a whole plot point in the first season it has nothing to do with Rhaenyra being a girl?! Viserys didn’t even like it at first but he agreed ONLY because their name would change when they sat the throne.
