Demonizing a medical treatment is no less harmful to the public interest than trying to stir up unqualified loyalty for it. Independent monitoring and evaluation by public health experts is the only way forward. Everything else is useless politicization or self-interested drama.

This is of course deeply stupid. But politicizing this specific treatment protocol is not just one side’s problem. Independent evaluation by independent public health professionals is the way forward here. Making a person the focus should never happen. It doesn’t help anyone.

An honest and revealing interview about London’s safe supply program. The model is over-prescribing for unsupervised use until somebody else-not the prescriber- proves the patient is diverting their prescription. That’s a model that works against the interest of public health.
