@megbasham During the height of the pandemic, I came to wonder why JM took so long to admit to congregants that he was very sick with COVID. To many of us it felt dishonest.
@Ngamini2004@megbasham Virtual church worked well for many of us who possessed the realistic perspective that it wouldn’t be forever. When you have a virtual meeting for work, do you conclude nothing that occurred there counts?
@FlBluesG1rl@HawleyMO Are you American? I suspect not because, with the exception of your guy Trump, we do not capitalize random words in sentences here.
@DavidAFrench A Jewish friend of mine converted to Christianity and was baptized 20 years ago. He just informed me that, due to the political views and actions of fellow-believers, he’s backed out of church attendance, feeling he must have misunderstood what Christian faith entailed.
@megbasham Wasn’t his point was that Jen is exposing women to Scripture regularly? I hope if you look further into any misgivings you’ll adopt the same attitude you did toward Wilson in spite of his c-word use: that as siblings in Christ you can link arms together as co-heirs with Christ.
Y’all acting like you’ve never seen an octogenarian drug addict blow 16M on Reflecting Pool reno cause he gave a no bid gov’t contract to a guy who looks like he sold quaaludes to The Riddler & then blame the algae bloom on a 350 ft boxcutter attack by underwater Antifa before?
The irony of Republicans controlling all branches of government while
bankrupting the country, starting a war, sending money to fraudulent programs, violating the Constitution, giving corporations immunity...
but arguing that the biggest problem we have is “stolen elections.”
@DiP11s@scotchanglican Do you honestly listen to rightwing interlocuters and still attribute disingenuousness to the Left?
Might be time for a hearing aid check.
@guyschultz@megbasham@Keir_Starmer I've thought of her as a person with a strong vocabulary but not much strength in logic and math. If I'm mistaken about that, you're right, it's even worse.
@megbasham@kayostweet If you could just admit you criticize Keller because he (and French and Moore) didn’t love Trump, we’d all be relieved. The omniscient tone you assume can sound like a roundabout, dishonest excuse for sowing disharmony. Ask God to show you if you might place politics over faith.
@WozzleBaby@bonchieredstate@megbasham@EWErickson I must agree to disagree and leave it at that, because I suspect we're both already convinced the other is off base. Have a good evening with your family.
@WozzleBaby@bonchieredstate@megbasham@EWErickson Championing denigration of white men is quite a charge and a simplistic overstatement, at least if you've ever met Keller, read his books fair-mindedly, or listened to a fair number of his sermons.
I've begun to think many Christians don't fully grasp the US's racial history.
