Sorry this account has been pretty inactive lately. Work and other things have been leaving me burned out and I've been trying to recover from that but it's slow. Will hopefully find the motivation to return to usual posting soon enough but I'm so exhausted too
there'll never be any consistent posting to this account but if I try to post consistently then I'm not able to effectively deal with times when irl gets to be way too much
Hey so, I'm back. Again. Too much stuff has been happening lately irl so this account has once again fallen by the wayside.
I want to keep posting here like I used to because it's one of only two online spaces we really have to talk about our DID but it's so hard to keep
an online presence here when shit keeps on hitting the fan irl.
So I don't know what I'll do, whether I'll try to return to how often I used to post here or not. Not sure what I should do either. If I keep taking hiatuses every time something bad happens irl then
So one of my little updates: my previous/only psychologist is now on leave until at least 2024 due to having a baby. So I'm trying to find a new psychologist within about a 50 minute drive of me and I have maybe 8-9 options. The most appealing option – a psych who specialised in
I know I haven't done much with this account in forever except give occasional updates about what in my life has happened now but it's hard to even imagine going back to how I used to use this account (sometimes arguing against misinfo of DID, sometimes sharing what DID is
Still not really sure what the fuck I'm meant to do with this info. It feels too much, too overwhelming, and that's why there's so much dissociation right now
Been dissociating to hell and back in recent days, probably due to it finally sinking in that I have to find a new psychologist.
I know I was at work yesterday but I don't remember anything specific about actually being there.
Tbh I think all of us are feeling the shock of losing our current psychologist in a few weeks. It always takes a long time for serious things like this to sink in but when that delayed reaction finally hits us, it hits hard and this time's no exception
I'm gonna go back to looking for actual therapists for DID but I'm also learning how uncommon they are in Australia so finding one is not gonna be easy, fml
Tfw you're trying to find resources for DID specifically because you need to find a new therapist for *DID specifically* and instead you find a website that treats DID as being the exact same as any other form of hearing voices (including psychosis), and also endogenic plurality.
I don't care if you put your belief in any of these things. I do care if you try to say that DID is similar to them or vice versa, because all these experiences (might) involve hearing voices, as if that's all there is to DID.
