I love the outdoors. I love different cultures and countries. My hope is that my life will be a blessing for those around me and those that come after me.

I loved how this article used the acronym EATS to highlight some possible functions of behavior. EATS stands for Escape, Attention, Tangible gains, and Sensory needs.

I enjoyed this article as it mentioned the same three parts of differentiation; content, process, and product, however it also added a fourth, learning environment. This too can play a key role in differentiating for students with various needs. Thanks Allison!
@mrs_mfinley@roper_lynn This article helps to clearly lay out how differentiation should take place in a classroom. Material should be differentiated through the content covered, the process used to achieve learning of the content, and the product/assessment tied to the content learned.

"6 Ways to Engage Every Learner Using UDL"
This article laid out 6 ways to engage students using UDL. One way that it mentioned and that I liked was to use technology but not rely on it too heavily.

Inclusion: It’s rare for school curriculums to address concepts like privilege, oppression, global power structures and racism but, this as a key step in combating inequality.

@roper_lynn After reading through this example IEP, the process made a lot more sense in my mind. I appreciated how it was not overly complicated and provided the student specific objectives that he/she was to meet by the end of the year.
A5 #CUchat Blended learning is a vital part in being a good educator. It takes significant effort on the part of the teacher, but has some amazing outcomes in student's learning. Blended learning allows students to move at their own pace and get help when they need it.
A4 #CUchat I like the Rotation method. It often takes students multiple times to really understand content. By having them cover the same material at different stations in a variety of ways it truly allows them to gain a better grasp of what they are studying.
A3 #CUchat Students need to use their own creativity and problem solving skills. They need to be able to work well in small groups and be self-motivated. Students also need to be able to use technology effectively or work towards that end.
A1 #CUchat An example of blended learning would be embedding instructional videos into your content. This breaks up a class cycle and helps students hear the same content from a different point of view.
A1 #CUchat When I think of blended learning I imagine a classroom that is student driven and uses the wide variety of resources that are available in education, namely technology. The teacher then can focus on each individual and move at their pace. #flipclass
@sarahgaron2 @drjervin@TED_ED The video does a great job of walking through the life of a Roman Legionnaire named Servius Felix. It helps us to see what they had to go through.
@KuzmaKatherine@drjervin@TED_ED Wow that was a fun video. It really explains the effects of caffeine well. Caffeine blocks the receptors in your brain that adenosine normally fills. The purpose of adenosine is to trigger the body to begin biochemical reactions which slow down the body and cause it to be tired
