How do we feel about the President of bankrupt Lion Electric also being the Managing Director of BMO Capital Markets - which just happened to gush to investors about Lion Electric’s “roaring success” - while taxpayers foot the bill for its failure along with misled shareholders?
It’s now official!
In Canada, the legal concept that forms the foundation of Western civilization, equality before the law, which holds that laws must apply equally to everyone, no longer applies.
Anthropic says it has reduced the data harvested from Claude in distillation attacks by around 90–99%. I congratulate them on this achievement.
It’s consistent with the point I made a few months ago (All-In Ep. 282): Anthropic, not the government, was in the best position to stop distillation of its own models. Once the horse is out of the barn, there’s limited value in after-the-fact government action.
At the time there was a major push in Washington to restrict open models on IP grounds. The threat looked serious enough that 50 companies — including Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, IBM, Palantir, and Dell — published an open letter in defense of open-weight models. Jensen Huang promoted it in his first-ever X post. Nearly 200 startups sent a similar letter.
I argued that restricting open models risked removing the incentive for closed-model companies to solve the problem themselves — and could reward negligence by stifling competition while they continued collecting revenue from distillation. The administration did not impose those restrictions.
Now we see the result. Anthropic invested in defenses and they worked. Not every technical challenge is a reason to run to Washington for new regulation.
.@Sonderling47: "I am hereby suspending from the Permanent Labor Certification Program some of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world — Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini — and also, due to multiple active federal investigations, @USDOL is suspending Microsoft and Adobe from the program."
The NDP enabled the Tumbler Ridge shooting by pushing gender ideology onto children and recklessly returning seized guns to a home with a history of violence.
David Eby blamed OpenAI.
I asked him why, but his Minister cried "hate!" instead of explaining.
Shocking exchange.
Our government spends an astounding amount of resources trying to make diversity work.
Discriminatory hiring practices, translational supports for countless foreign languages, millions in subsidies for NGOs that promote their backwards worldview.
Our reward? A divided and dysfunctional country.
We actually do not need these anti-White policies that oppress the exact people our state should be protecting.
Tear down these policies. Prioritize our own people, our own heritage, our own identity.
Stop being so accommodating for people who just want to take advantage of us.
Millions will leave on their own.
@amatoudi@KeyOfBart This is Canada not India, we should be represented by Canadians
Indians have interests such as increasing the diaspora that conflicts with Canadian’s interests
@0x49fa98 X told Trump Superior Intelligence and Extreme Intelligence (or whatever Trumps poll ideas were) was wrong.
This is a case of the crowd chant becoming decree
