This get's to me every time, it's as near perfect piece of Film Making as anyone has ever achieved. Technically brilliant and emotionally gut wrenching at he same time. My Dad was there, and somehow finally got back to South London and then on to North Africa like so many others
When you understand what Honor Blackman & Pat Macnee experienced during WW2 - Honor a teenage dispatch rider taking messages through the Blitz & Blackout; Pat a navigator on Motor Torpedo Boats in the English Channel & North Sea - they were real-life heroes before The Avengers.
James Cameron: "In Star Wars the good guys are the rebels, they're using asymmetric warfare against a highly organized empire, I think we call those guys terrorists today."
George Lucas: "When I did it they were Vietcong. That was the whole point."
The juxtaposition of this flood & the new builds under construction almost perfectly illustrates why the Yimby ‘build, build, build’ fantasy that we can indefinitely build things for humans- & concrete over nature- without consequences is deluded
Channel 4 overtly saying the clip of two ‘Palestinians’ discussing Al Ahli hospital - disclosed by Israel in response to it being bombed - is fake, is the bravest reporting a U.K. broadcaster has done in a very long time.
It has massive implications.
#Ridge - Richard Madeley asked you if you knew the Hamas attacks were going to take place before they actually happened?
Layla Moran - "My face at the time looked pretty flummoxed... I don't think it came from a place of malice... perhaps ignorance... "
Watch Piers Morgan have his arse handed to him, repeatedly, by a man of *far* superior intellect.
An man on the edge. A man who’s family is being bombed as they speak: who Morgan describes as ‘collateral damage’. Bassem Youssef is incredible 🙏🏽🥺
They did it to use up old stock and save money. The UK government website spells it out in the language of cost-effectiveness and pre-procurement. They used people’s bodies as asset dumps for old, less effective medical stock. https://t.co/KJQD8YeCVm
I seem to have upset the @SuellaBraverman fan club - so let me be clear.
This women sows hate, lies and division. She is wrong.
She does not represent the vast majority of Britons.
RT if you agree
P.s. multiculturalism is great.
Astounding disconnect between the unquestioning support for no matter what the 🇮🇱 government does by our mainstream politicians vs public support for the long oppressed Palestinian people. London, you do the UK proud, even though our government doesn’t.
There were hundreds, if not thousands of Jewish people marching in solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters today.
Not everyone wanted to be photographed but here are a few folks that kindly let me take their portraits ❤️🕊️
Qs for @SuellaBraverman: Should we assume all these people support Hamas? If not, which do and which don’t? How will you separate the former from the latter so they can be prosecuted? Should police arrest the ones with flags, or the young men with brown skin? No? #ThinkThenSpeak
