🇺🇦🇪🇺 Ukraine says it is short roughly $27 billion for defense needs into next year, and Europe is starting to admit it may not be able to cover the bill.

The gap comes from rising drone demand, air defense, military salaries and payments to families of fallen soldiers, with Kyiv also trying to lock in weapons purchases for 2027.

Oh, and don't forget the usual embezzlement; that's also included in the bill.

Europe has already promised Ukraine a $105 billion loan through 2027, but officials privately told the WSJ they may not be able to meet everything Kyiv is asking for this year.

And politically, finding more money is getting harder.

Germany’s AfD just won Saxony-Anhalt campaigning to end aid to Ukraine, while Marine Le Pen says France can no longer afford to keep funding Kyiv.

The EU is now weighing faster loan payments, borrowing against its next budget or once again trying to tap roughly $200 billion in frozen Russian assets.

Ukraine's war bill keeps climbing, and Europe's patience is being tested right along with its budget.

Meanwhile, taxpayers, who were never asked if they wanted to fund this, are struggling to survive
