Defeat the soppy Greens. Climate change is a scam.
Broken legs, body full of shrapnel,
Major James Caper Jr., the first Black marine, still got every man out.
He is the first Black officer nominated
for the Medal of Honor 🫡 ♥️🇺🇸
Members of the public can nominate Latika Bourke for the "Walkley Outstanding Contribution to Journalism Award". For once a Journalist in Australia is asking the real questions that need answering.
There can be no disagreement with the proposition that, after 1788, there was much conflict between the original inhabitants of Australia and the incoming British settlers. But that's not actually what's at issue today. What's at issue is whether this frontier bloodshed should properly be described as a war, and whether its commemoration should take place at the Australian War Memorial? My short answer is "no" and "no".
The War Memorial has been intended as a place of unity and pride, rather than division and shame; a place to record and to commemorate what Australians have done together to defend our Commonwealth, to support our allies, and to uphold our values.
Given that none of the participants in any frontier "war" had Australian uniforms or the authorisation of an Australian government, the place to recall and to regret is not here.
