His role was to say what would make people safest (in the context of thousands of people dying) - it wasn’t to say what was the optimal policy also factoring in the economy or kids’ education. That optimization of policy was the role of the President. If you didn’t like the policies nlame the President(s) not the health advisor…

Like many conspiracy theorists you do a great job of adding 1+1 to equal 3. Common among such theorists is a misunderstanding of science, that a single data point tells you nothing, and that a theory is meaningless without some properly developed proof.
In Dr Fauci’s role he was employed to articulate what would keep people safe - not what would make the economy work again. Weaving such contrary factors such as safety and economic sustainability together to create an optimal policy was the role of the President - not Dr Fauci. Republicans seek to hang Dr Fauci for mistakes that Trump ultimately made - they are looking to the wrong defendant.

Response should be two-fold:
1. Funding needs to come with commitment to due process with Congress on decision making to wage wars
2. DoD has to become more efficient. Our military is premised on everything being ‘the best’ (and therefore most expensive) - we need to learn more from Ukraine with cheap, mass production of weapons

Never leaving his basement? What are you talking about? Biden may have had many weaknesses, which became evident during his presidency, but a lot of his popularity in 2020 was because people were fed up with the vitriol and unpleasantness of a Trump presidency. And Biden was so bad in the end, and Harris such a poor candidate, that Trump then got back in. You may not like this, but talk with people who have different views than your own and you will understand it.

As you report: “He added that government officials didn’t disclose to him when he was president these alleged attempts by China to try to influence the 2020 election.” What an incredible assertion - he hammered on his Administration to come up with any conceivable excuses that the election was rigged, and now he’s claiming someone had a smoking gun and did nothing?!
And always amazing that no doubt is cast when he or one of his cronies wins an election. Why no claim that maybe he didn’t win in 2024, or 2016 for that matter?

@mdouglasok @markgoldbridge England were outplaying Argentina until they went 1-0 up - then they handed 3/4 of the pitch to Argentina to make crosses, take shots and, eventually - go figure, get a goal. If you listened to the pundits after the game, they made the same observation. Tuchel got it badly wrong.

She didn’t ask to be ‘Face of the League’. Such an unhelpful comment. One wonders why you made it?
Maybe you could be more supportive of someone who is a huge talent and who has brought joy and attention to the WNBA, and a wealth boost to everyone in it, and has done so solely through her playing. If you didn’t see that she has brought new excitement to Women’s Basketball you must have been blind.
