If you listen carefully he said that the black Jews definitely weren’t considered black in Ethiopia and faced religious persecution, so no matter where Jews go it seems like we aren’t considered the same “race” as everyone else.

What we are against are interfaith marriages and marrying people with no desire to uphold our peoplehood. If my daughter wants to marry a “black” Jew I don’t care.

@HelleVitesse @benwehrman No, we are a peoplehood and we determine who is in it based on the religion. He’s talking also about Jewish men who are having children who aren’t Jewish and aren’t going to convert and become Jewish. Thats a loss for the community. It’s like a Christian marrying a Muslim.
