Being high agency means getting shit done.
But it ALSO means NOT doing the bad thing, even when game theory backs you into a corner.
It's easy to say "my competitors are building AGI too fast, so I gotta go faster". But that's weak, low-agency behaviour.
True power players find new ways to be build lasting trust & coordination between the warring factions.
That's the hard thing, and where our real heroes will be found.
“Epistemic Luck:
You know that if you’d lived in a different place or time, read different books, had different friends, you’d have different beliefs. And yet, you’re convinced that your current beliefs are correct. So, are you wrong, or the luckiest person ever?” — @G_S_Bhogal
Don't mean to be critical, but why hate them? Maybe, think of this differently? The crowd and movement you are seeing here are in the process of explaining many difficult things. My advice: thank them instead.
They are in the process of visually explaining why despite decades of work by Israelis and Americans, there is still no state for Palestinian Arabs, and they are doing it better than anyone else can. They are explaining why Israel was forced to go into Gaza. They are explaining their reasoning, upon which my fellow Americans are still being held hostage. They are explaining why even so many Americans who deplore Netanyahu and Settler policy, still support Israel's defense of its people and sovereignty.
They are here explaining the level of intellectual rigor behind 'Palestinian Genocide in Gaza!' to people who do not follow the middle east closely. They are explaining what "From the River to the Sea!" actually means. Visually. They are explaining what they will do if given power. They are explaining the unusual uses Hamas has found for Hospitals, Schools, Apartment Buildings, Ambulances, Refugee Camps, etc. They are explaining why Hamas (while complaining of 'genocide') actually rockets a sovereign state to provoke attacks from a nation whose citizens they hold as hostages. The protestors are showing us how Hamas deliberately antagonized and *FORCED* Israel into military response, through a declaration of war through by jihadis committing gleeful attrocities against civilians, the elderly, guest workers, children and mothers. They are explaining why Black Lives Matter is dangerous to us all despite black lives mattering to almost everyone.
They are explaining that they love Yemen and the Houthis and hate their own country and themselves. They are explaining what they will do to "Queers for Palestine" once they are done using them, and get the chance to explore the admonitions of strict religious law.
They are explaining why reasonable and civil muslims the world over have been warning the west about the dangers of Jihad and Salafists/Wahabists for decades. They are explaining why they don't blink when you say 'Rape is not an act of Resistance' and why they celebrate the acts of unimaginable savagery used to drag Israel into war. They are explaining what the "world wide revolt of the oppressed" is actually about. They are explaining the intellectual basis and stature of an otherwise misleading academic theory called 'Decolonization'.
They are showing you our future if we couple Gun Control to something called 'Defund the Police'. This certainly is changing my position on Gun Control. What would they do to you if they were armed and you were not with no police to call? They are telling you the meaning of 'No Justice, No Peace' as a threat rather than a slogan. That is priceless, in and of itself.
More than anything, they are explaining that they are not liberals, or center left or even progressives. You are looking straight into the eyes and hearts of revolutionaries. These are the violent revolutionaries who have been normalized by one party. My party, I am embarassed to say. These people are what now leap out of the Wooden Horse, misleadingly labeled 'Progressivism', when you take it inside your gated walls, and they are explaining what this group sees as progress. They are telling you what the phrase "A world to win!" means to them. Learn from them.
So take a good look. If you deplore the idea of violent revolutionaries destabilizing your world and everything you love about it, don't look away. Let them finish their explanation. Get their representatives and spokespeople who are not afraid to *fully* explain the true agenda as much air time as they want.
Join me. The abyss is hard to understand: welcome the explanation and celebrate their free speech.
One man's opinion anyway. Hope it helps.
The Kayfabrication of everything is all but complete.
Some of you *still* think that professional wrestling is simply fake.
Best of luck in November.

It’s not a bad take at all from 2022!
But I think we can and should now build upon it and take it much further in 2024.
The new version of the Democratic Party, together with its supportive media and subservient universities are in the process of embittering and radicalizing *EVERY* single last US dissenter. Literally everyone who dissents from the party narratives is coming to despise the leadership of the party and its media. Name me the independent Democratic Party dissenters, who are huge fans of the Biden/Harris ticket. They don’t exist. They aren’t real. Here’s why.
Tell me if you recognize the following playbook:
“That seems odd.” —->Conspiracy Theorist!
“I’m thinking of starting my own newsletter/podcast/channel to discuss and explore what I don’t see discussed in mainstream media and academe.” —-> Grifter!! Narcissist!
“Trump is actually making kind of an effective point.” —-> Cancelled!
“I actually looked at the data and primary sources which don’t say exactly what you are claiming.” ——> Ha ha. Dunning-Kruger!
“I don’t know that I fully agree with that.” —-> Far Right extremist!
“I have a different take on that.” —-> Charlatan. Total charlatan.
“There is weirdly an interesting parallel there between two different points.” ——> Stay in your lane!
“This DEI agenda seems pretty extreme in a bunch of places.” ——-> Bigot!
Etc.
——————
I have watched the White House invite relatively random ‘influencers’ for briefings. But no one who actually has their own ideas. No one at all.
The party is increasingly about one thing:
“Let us think for you. Let us be your eyes and your ears. Make our new words and phrases into your language. Let our talking point memos be your dinner table conversation perspectives. Surrender.”
And everyone with a soul or a dissenting idea in their head starts looking rightwards whether or not they have ANY INTEREST at all in Republican ideas. I don’t look to the Republican Party for ideas or platform planks. I think only about one thing: “Can I afford to think for myself here?”
Quite honestly, I can’t think around the true believers in the Democratic Party. My brain doesn’t work around this totalitarian gaslighting.
And I assure you this is why Joe Biden is going to lose as this continues: you cannot gaslight an entire nation of free people into hating each other this completely for this long.
Biden has dementia and cognitive loss. He has for some time. Harris is not fit to command the army. I didn’t create that. I merely observed it. For YEARS.
But pretending that *everyone* who sees a buck naked emperor is a charlatan is no longer working very well.
The emperor is naked and has been for some time. He has been protected by a party leadership that needs to be retired.
The Democratic Party leadership is sending almost all smart people fleeing for no other reason than that smart free people want to retain the right to dissent without character assasination.
Sooner or later, we all feel like Elon does when shat upon. Everyone. Full stop.

Here's an embedded version of the Broken Money video.
-An analysis of the past, present, and future of money, and how technology impacts it over time.
-How the current disequilibrium (transactions way faster than settlements) creates centralized and corrupted money clusters:
If "social justice activism" was about helping those in need, the activists would take the time to fully understand the issues they protest about. Instead, the main purpose of "social justice activism" is to make the activists feel good about themselves. It’s moral masturbation.
This is super-prescient from Sagan.
The optimistic case here, is that what we are going through over the next decade is a low point en route to the next higher point.
And whether that case takes hold is ultimately up to us. Do we emphasize reason or do we revert to extremism?
Below are three tips that consistently help me. They might seem simplistic, but they keep me from careening too far off the tracks. They are my defense against the abyss. They might help you find your own.
Test them, keep your favorites, and use them as a starting point:
1. Go to the gym and move for at least 30 minutes. For me, this is 80% of the battle. When possible, I prefer an actual “How can I help you, sir?” gym to walking or a home-based workout, as the last thing I need is alone time with my head. Somehow force yourself to be around other humans.
2. Each morning, express heartfelt gratitude to one person you care about, or who’s helped or supported you. Text, message, write, or call. Can’t think of anyone? Don’t forget past teachers, classmates, coworkers from early in your career, old bosses, etc.
3. If you can’t seem to make yourself happy, do little things to make other people happy. This is a very effective magic trick. Focus on others instead of yourself. Buy coffee for the person behind you in line (I do this a lot), compliment a stranger, volunteer at a soup kitchen, help a classroom on https://t.co/jg6kdjggyA, buy a round of drinks for the line cooks and servers at your favorite restaurant, etc. The little things have a big emotional payback, and guess what? Chances are, at least one person you make smile is on the front lines with you, quietly battling something nearly identical.

If you want the lushest green of life (and you do), the gray is part of the natural cycle.
You are not flawed.
You are human.
You have gifts to share with the world.
And when the darkness comes, when you are fighting the demons, just remember: I’m right there fighting with you. You are not alone.
The gems I’ve found were forged in the struggle.
Never ever give up.
