🚨GraInformant Update🚨
The website is now live
The GraInformant site allows you to check Soybean/Corn processor basis levels quickly and for free
You can access the site by just looking up grainformant, and if our X profile shows up first just include a .com at the end - the link also is in our profile
It has not yet been optimized for mobile viewing so I would suggest checking on a computer when you get a chance.
There is still much to be added, this is a large work in progress, but I wanted to get this functionality out to the public in the effort to save some time for those who check these levels daily.
Please reach out with any comments or ideas you would like to see implemented. I am very excited to get this out to everyone and hope you all enjoy it.
If it useful for you, please consider sharing the site to others in the industry!
Thank you everyone!

J/J YSB CIF spread at ~-17c is the widest it’s been since 2020
Closest we’ve gotten since then was last year, where we traded at -14c late June with June at 60 and July at 74
The 2025 relationship was short lived, 2 days later June was ~69 and July was 74
Some fun mkts

Zone 3 ADM elevators have moved their corn basis down 2c, leaving them at -6N
Hopes for spread strength seems gone, bleak outlook for June

🌽River Corn Basis Levels - 6/4
A bit more strength for June values
In Zone 3, ADM lead the charge on Wednesday when they kicked their levels up 2c to -4, the moves today were just following.
If we see additional strength today or into next week I believe spreads will continue to strengthen
Zone 2: -6 (+1)
Zone 3: -4 (+1)
Zone 5: 1 (+0)
Zone 6: 24 (+0)

Large Wheat unloads on the Miss River today - seems like harvest is getting underway.
J/J SRW CIF mkt has also tightened up - was 55/80 for a while but offer has come down, now 55/65
For the first time in a while we saw Zone 3 corn basis increase on the IL River.
Freight has been weaker, and CIF lower as well, but when those river basis levels increase, spreads typically start doing some work.
We will wait to see if basis strength continues
Expecting more basis strength from bean and corn processor, oil prices continue to rise as ags fall down - better and better margins

That is a good point, I’d not thought abt tht view.
One thing tht I’ve been a bit interested in is the actual basis levels being offered - these record crush levels are not leading to great basis. Across most of the states, processor basis has been weaker than values seen last 2 years.
Any thoughts as to why?
My guess is transportation costs
