Worst finish since 2010! 2012 was bad all year, but 2010 had some promise. A hot and dry finish in 2010 took a large chunk of yield off the crops late and surprised everyone. Tach on a massive derecho: could get interesting when combines roll! Not just Iowa.

The damage from yesterday's multi-state squall line is far worse than I initially thought. NASA's MODIS was able to get a partial view of some of the damage. To say this crop damage is extensive is an understatement. The next clear day will show the full extent.
