Just spoke to an Air Force representative on site. They could not provide many details yet on what’s happening in the woods. Here’s what we know:

Around noon there was an incident with a “T-38 aircraft” and 2 pilots.

Both pilots ejected they were transported to a medical facility, are currently safe and being evaluated by medical staff.

Scene under evaluation by Air Force Safety Investigation Board.

No idea of a timeline on the investigation/road closures. Local law enforcement is assisting.

Tomorrow morning, Ibraheem Yazeed, the man convicted of killing Homewood native, Aniah Blanchard is set to be sentenced at the Macon County courthouse in Tuskegee.

We're learning more about a house fire in the Lakeview community of Tuscaloosa County.

Spoke with Lincoln Police Chief Scott Bonner about an early morning incident: investigators say a 3-year-old may have accidentally shot and killed their father. The child was not injured, no charges will be filed. Investigation is ongoing. @abc3340

All 8 suspects in the Bibb County child sex abuse case, tied to an alleged underground bunker, are set for a jury trial on June 22, 2026 (pretrial June 11). One of them, Dalton Terrell, has applied for youthful offender status.

All FY2026 budget requests will now be reviewed and decided on by the newly elected city council.

Today, the Hoover City Council held a public hearing on the FY2026 budget. Several department heads presented funding requests. The council voted earlier this week to continue the FY2025 budget until the new council reviews all requests and approves the FY2026 plan.

Other city departments presented requests for infrastructure updates, equipment, and administrative needs. The hearing ran several hours, with no final decisions made today.
