Here is a box a musical box, wound up & ready to play. But this box can hide a secret inside. Can you guess what is in it today?
I am now @gram63 at Bluesky
I am now gram63 at https://t.co/jolvFGPxo3
I have requested my archive.
Many thanks to the few remaining people here, who I have known across almost 15 years.
You have enlightened life.
It has of course, been the best, and then the worst of times.
@RichardBratby They all seemed to be having a roaring time. Especially Paul Watkins grinning like a highly amused Richard Griffiths, as if he and Adès were sharing a hilarious joke.
Great concert. Thoroughly enable.
@lancscricket Seems extraordinary to be at a major test cricket ground with no working scoreboard, and occasional, barely audible score announcements….
@BBCRadio3 Oh no.
Just as happened to @BBC6Music - take all the things which make it loved, ditch them, & turn the station into the same thing as everything else, pitching to an audience aged 7.
And please, please, stop advertising Podcasts.
Try being a grown up, radio station.
@mikeirons12 Isn’t it wonderful though that music moves us so?
I loved the knockout, and just like the real thing, a predictable winner doesn’t negate the thrills and spills at group stage!
@mikeirons12 I worked a record shop manager for 20 years.
I learned two main lessons:
1- the more I learn, the more I am aware that I know the tiniest fraction about music
2- other people’s passion for music I haven’t liked, has usually led to the most rewarding discoveries.
@hannahcfrench@BBCRadio3 Record Review & Extra have been a wonderful bookend to each weekend, and for once, Sunday evenings had something to look forward to.
These changes have sadly removed so much of what I love about R3.
@MahanEsfahani Saw the St John at Liverpool Parish Church c2019 as part of a service.
Filed out into the darkness in silence.
Such an emotional experience.
@andrewCDmcg@elin_manahan@BBCRadio3 How tragic that this will be the last of what I always describe as “My Favourite Radio Programme Of The Week”
The mix of extended music with intelligent comment & thought - never banal “chat” - with the peerless Building a Library, has made this the sound of Saturday mornings.
@deeplyclassical I have every one of these so far.
Each new release, I play them all, back to back.
It’s getting ever longer, and ever more revelatory.
And of course, it’s (mostly) Haydn.
@LoveInner There is Bach.
And some way below there are other matters: countries, politics, Picasso, Haydn, Shostakovich, Michaelmas, Microsoft, Apple, Newton, Einstein, The Nile, Everest, Australasia, Neptune, Alpha Centuri….
@DrJaninaRamirez Can I recommend listening to some life affirming music.
Doesn’t matter what.
Doesn’t matter why.
Music will never fail to change you, to elevate you in some way.
