The end of an era but the start of the next exciting adventure. We wish all our Year 6 children, and their families, the very best for what we hope will be a tremendously successful next chapter.
Our Y6 Class of 2023 are now officially GPA graduates and all set for their secondary schools. For some parents, this week marked the end of a 12-15 year journey with the GPA, as the youngest member of the family left our school.

Last week, Mrs. Parkin and her wonderful musicians performed a summer concert for their parents and caters, plus some of our Key Stage 2 classes. The audience enjoyed performances from percussion club, Y2 choir, KS2 choir, Pop Club and the Reimagine Rappers.
Yr 3,4,5 & 6 'soaked' up the fresh air @STWCarsington today. The rain did not let up, which gave the children a true ecologist's experience! We searched for living things in a variety of habitats, conducted a birdwatching survey, learnt about the reservoir's use @stwater
๐ Key Stage 2 are now en route to Carsington Water
โ๏ธ We wonโt be deterred by the rain, itโs just going to add to the fun, and the children are super excited
We didnโt get a photo of our greatest fans today, but we need to say a huge thank you to the parents and careers who came to cheer us on at Moorways.
It was so lovely to look up to the balcony to see lots of familiar, smiley faces rooting for us and celebrating our achievements.
Well done to our Year 4 and Year 5 swimming team who took part in the first swimming gala with @DCCTOfficial
The children did incredibly well and we are all very proud of them. We absolutely deserved all of the 86 points we were awarded, finishing 4th overall.
The university have also provided the children with a budget for lunch so they can experience selecting and purchasing their own lunch from the catering facilitates. From the look of Mr. Carpenterโs photographs, the children seem pretty pleased with their choices.
Linked to our Aspiration value, half of our Y6 children are visiting @DerbyUni as part of their Primary Explorers day. They are learning about university, degrees and possible careers. #aspiration#broadeninghorizons
