Since my dad and I stopped talking the only connection I feel to Mass is through my siblings and friends. when I was home in February, I felt like a tourist. I am not sure why I’m sharing this. But I am happy to be myself in a place all my own, where they only know me as Aoife.
Today I finally registered my car and got a CO license. It feels weird to be a resident of Colorado but it made me feel happy knowing that I have a stable home out here.
I also have weird feelings about Massachusetts, a place that still feels like home even if it isn’t.
Returning to this to say that all of the worst juvie charges on my docket come from kids being raised in fundamentalist households.
I’m seeing a trend here
Just ban it all.
It does nothing but make a few people rich while destroying the lives of the poor young kids who don’t get a good enough education to resist it.
At best it’s an unproductive distraction.
At worst, it’s toxic bankruptcy-inducing antisocial behavior.
Ban it.
I don’t give a fuck what you were told, these people have a right to counsel and you are denying me entry. I will be a huge cunt to you, I will be telling the weekend judge and DDA your name and why we’re starting late. It’s your fault!
Spent the whole weekend prepping a trial for stupid fucking petty offenses that I told the stupid fucking prosecutor to dismiss and woke up this morning, day of trial, with a motion to dismiss in my inbox.
These fucking people!
When things are going to shit and you have nothing else to back up your argument, I am learning that “as an officer of the court…” somehow goes a long way
An unarmed Iranian ship was invited, along with the U.S., to be part of an Indian Naval exercise, and its sailors paraded on land before the president.
The U.S. at the last minute pulled out of the exercise and instead attacked the Iranian ship with a torpedo.
Breaking with all norms of civilization and warfare, we then refused to rescue the drowning survivors. The Sri Lanka Navy was left to pull the dead bodies from the water.
I am hard pressed to think of any other nation throughout history that would do something so cowardly and despicable. We are genuinely in a league of our own, and American media — mostly shrugging off the bombing of a girls school and acting as if carpet bombing Tehran is a normal military tactic — is deeply complicit.
