Everyone who travels offshore by helicopter must have their shoulders measured by a trained person.
If your shoulders measure larger than 55.9cm you will be classified as extra broad (XBR) and will be allocated a seat compatible with you shoulder size.

Following the recent news of Granite Occupational Health taking over the clinic of Aberdeen Medical Services, we were pleased to see the announcement in the Evening Express this week. #graniteoh#occupationalhealth
A report from the British Safety Council has told the HSE to treat Air Pollution as an Occupational Health issue for outdoor workers.

This would mean that outdoor workers would need regular #healthsurveillance.

Need your #OGUK Medical in a hurry?
With our two clinic locations in Westhill and Aberdeen we can often accommodate a same day appointment for your offshore medical.
For details contact the team on 01224 766918 or [email protected]#graniteoh#occupationalhealth
What happens when you see the nurse at work for health surveillance?
You will complete a form before your appointment. It asks questions about what you may be exposed to that could affect your health e.g. dust, noise, etc.
The form is confidential and will only be seen by OH.
We often visit work sites to carry out health survaillance. This can be a more cost effective and efficient way for you to have employees seen by OH. All we need at your site is a quiet, private, place to work and a steady supply of coffee for our nurses.
Having an OGUK medical?
Try arrive 15 minutes early. Bring ID, a list of any medications and glasses.
A nurse will check height, weight, BP, pulse and vision. Then a simple lung test, hearing test and check urine sample.
Then an OGUK registered doctor will review your results.
The @OPITOGlobal BOSIET, FOET and HUET Courses have changed and now include in-water training with the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System. Anyone attending these must complete a โFit to Trainโ medical. A questionnaire is completed followed by a face to face appointment.
