It's revealing that TDS is Issue Number 1 for boomers (and basically a non-issue for zoomers), while cost of living is far more salient to Gen X and younger. It's almost equally revealing that housing affordability is almost the lowest priority for boomers, while healthcare is their number 2. Probably the most revealing, however, is that making Canada a better place to live is dead last for boomers. It's already great for them. Their kids are suffering, but they don't give a shit, they've got theirs.
@BlueStateGrump@Remigratio92522 But if this is true, pushing Canada further into the arms of China only creates a larger threat for the US. It just seems to contrived. He should try to lessen Chinese influence, not exacerbate it.
@Iwantto61363220@Horacethe1st Very true. It's important to specify that it's mostly coming from the side of the economy that would benefit from importing 5 million more Uber Eats drivers and frycooks
Poilievre ever so hesitantly dips his toe into immigration politics, a year late and an inflated loonie short, and gets the strongest response he's ever gotten from the base. He'll probably be too timid to go further down this path, but maybe there's an ambitious young Conservative Party backbencher who will notice this abandoned crown glittering in the gutter, and pick it up.
