I'm prepared to go to jail over this.
My grandmother Rita Pete went to St. Mary's Indian Residential School. She experienced terrible abuse. As a consequence, she struggled with alcohol use most of her life.
My mother was born with FASD as a consequence of her using alcohol to cope with her trauma.
I am Chief of my community Chawathil First Nation. I am working to address the longstanding impacts of these past policies through renovating homes, building new homes, creating childcare, and growing businesses through economic development.
I have interviewed people who went to Indian Residential Schools. I have interviewed people who believe Indian Residential Schools were awful, horrible schools, meant to remove the Indian from the child.
I've also interviewed people who believe they were well intended, generous investments by Canadian taxpayers meant to assimilate a society and had shortcomings.
Like with many things, the history is dark, complicated, and with any policy that existed for a long time, across a whole country - there were different experiences.
No one story tells us everything. No report shares the full experience of the individuals who went. No commentator today can disprove someone's lived experience with statistics.
The path forward is not to criminalize speech, questions, or debate.
The path forward is empathy for past attendees.
The path forward is truth based on facts.
The path forward is real conversations.
The path forward is to lean into complexity.
If the government criminalizes this, then I will be a criminal for having these conversations.
If I am a criminal by the laws definition, then I am committed to going to jail over this.
This is total fear porn; she is now another puppet voice for globalists. @ABDanielleSmith
That’s right, in a post-nation state, federalism is globalism.
Alberta will redefine Canada.
Carney issued the same kind of anxiety data to the British before, and after, the Brexit Vote. @MarkJCarney
The truth is the EU dream is on life support without the UK; Canada will not be its lifeline.
France and Germany are also moving toward the exit doors.

🌹💰⛔️🇨🇦 : Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says it could easily cost over $400 billion for an independent Republic of Alberta, to set up a credible government.
Smith adds it will require an additional $50 billion a year to run such a government.
The Premier also says Alberta would have to renegotiate all trade deals, including agreements under USMCA.
Danielle warns a new Republic would likely face immediate new tariffs or higher tariffs on Alberta goods, currently under Canadian trade deals.
She also warns travel and property rights inside the rest of Canada & around the world could be limited, cumbersome or rejected.
Do you think the Premier's warnings are credible?
@SusanNaismith3@ABDanielleSmith 300k+ people signed to have a constitutional referendum NOT to have a vote so they could have a constitutional referendum.
The premier could have put the question on the ballot by statutory authority.
Listen closely to this Canada…the truth is being released in the UK about the Pakistani grooming and rape gangs.
This is simply shocking.
So much that has been hidden is going to be revealed.
Thank you @RupertLowe10
Hey @JayGenXer
The Federal Conservatives have known about this ‘post-national’ slave plan for Canadians since 2015!
They were told. @PierrePoilievre
Most CPC MP’s have just missed it, to be kind.
The ones that saw, and have completely failed to defend this nation, were either afraid or complicit.
Do you want either of these two groups of MP’s leading you?
🚨 THIS SHOULD SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF EVERY SINGLE CANADIAN ‼️
11 years of Liberal rule and their OWN 2040 report just dropped the most dystopian forecast imaginable for our country.
Here’s what the next decade, decade-and-a-half, or even the next five years could look like:
- Home ownership? Only for the rich kids who inherit it. Hard work won’t cut it anymore.
- Upward mobility? Almost unheard of. Most young Canadians will never build a better life than their parents.
- Groceries, rent, bills — so expensive people might literally start hunting, fishing, and foraging on public land just to eat.
- Inequality explodes. Renters vs owners becomes a permanent class war.
- Young people give up on university because it no longer guarantees shit.
- Mental health crisis worsens. Demand for social services skyrockets.
- People lose faith in the entire Canadian project and start emigrating to places where the dream still exists.
This isn’t some right-wing fever dream. This is the Liberal government’s own report.
Pierre Poilievre warned us before the election. They didn’t listen.
Now we’re staring down the barrel of a broken, hopeless Canada.
This is exactly why we need CHANGE — and we need it yesterday.
Drop a 🇨🇦💀 if this grim future terrifies you.

So Alberta could acquire federal property for less than half of what Albertans overpay Ottawa in a single year under Equalization?
That doesn’t sound expensive. That sounds like a bargain.
The “irrelevancy” distinction is a total cop-out and reveals exactly the kind of shallow zealot logic that votes for the lesser of two evils which unsurprisingly gets you disfunction and the evil mess we are in.
He voted for Agenda 2030 - he refuses to revoke it. He is consistent.
Consistency used to be valued. Now it seems you are finding excuses to celebrate inconsistency in your elected leadership.
Res Ipsa.
@_____JM________@PierrePoilievre Right….that is after voting for the UN Paris Climate Accord that limits the the production and distribution of oil - then refusing to agree to revoke it?
More double talk. If you only look at “half” of what he says you will find him to be correct.
Maybe that’s all you need?
Jason, ohh….there is a magic wand but it belongs to you and your ilk.
The spell it casts cloaks the declared threat of a post nation state from the Canadian people as the root and the traitorous failure of the Federal Conservatives to confront the ideological destruction of the country.
I ask you this: Is Alberta truly seceding, or is it proudly preserving the promises of our nation?
BTW, those parks, military bases et al fall within the territorial boundaries of Alberta so will be clearly forfeit from Canada 1.0.

On issue after issue, separatists just wave their magic wand to wish away serious problems with secession.
Myth: “Federal lands and federal building (sic) don’t add up to much”
Fact:
- Wood Buffalo National Park
- Jasper National Park
- Banff National Park
- Waterton National Park
- Elk Island National Park
Together encompass 53,860 sq KM, or 8.2% of Alberta’s land mass
- CFB Cold Lake
- CFB Suffield
- CFB Wainwright
- CFB Edmonton
Together encompass ~12,000 sq KM, or 1.9% of Alberta’s land mass
- 138 Indian Reserves encompassing 6,556 sq KM, or 1% of Alberta’s land mass
- YEG and YYC airport lands, encompassing 49 sq KM
Plus hundreds of other parcels of land, buildings, etc, much of it prime downtown property (eg armouries, RCMP facilities.)
So ~12% of Alberta’s land mass, including some of the most valuable and strategically important in the province. The total value would be in the tens of billions of dollars.
But don’t worry, the separatists say. No biggie. We’ll just keep saying “Canada sucks” and stuff, cause facts are hard.
So @ABDanielleSmith you are having a referendum to see if we need to have a referendum? Insulting cowardice.
You have ‘kicked the can down the road’ and ‘muzzled voters’ while saying you are not doing that. Duplicitous.
You have failed to even identify Carney’s post-national threat to Albertans. Utterly Dangerous.
I trust you are writing your resignation.

Why do we obsess so much about this SCC decision when the true test is the legitimacy of the unilateral declaration as measured by the ‘International Community’ (p103). The SCC clearly knows this well.
‘Mala fides’ has been established by the Federal Government.
Do we need more evidence?
