They need a paycheque that goes further, a company willing to hire them, and enough private investment that their kids don't have to leave town to build a future.

Now we're being promised 100,000 new Red Seal trades workers.

That's a nice headline, but what's the plan if manufacturers keep shelving projects, investment keeps leaving, and businesses have fewer jobs to offer when those apprentices finish?

Recruit.
Train.
Then... hire them where?

That's the question.

For years, Liberal Ottawa has measured success by announcing programs instead of creating the conditions that make those programs necessary in the first place. You don't build a prosperous economy by recruiting workers faster than you're attracting investment.

A strong workforce is only half the equation.

If you're not building a country businesses want to invest in, you're training people for opportunities that will end up somewhere else.
