@composinghab21 they actually tried to deny my wife a seat one time saying that she'd purchased a "fare," but not a "seat," and therefore was being left off of the oversold flight. Absolutely bogus.
@composinghab21 @rofh don't care for his acting in general but gotta hand it to 'im for his bit part as Barbara Streisand's coked-out boyfriend in Licorice Pizza
@MatanaRoberts @RivalAlt93 A local Vancouver Legend. Started out at the college radio station CiTR at University of British Columbia. MuchMusic (Canada's MTV) aired a bunch of his interviews in 90's-2000s before the YouTube days.
@MatanaRoberts i really enjoy 'Gerhard Richter Painting' (2011) dir. Corinna Belz. very quiet. beautiful and slow depiction of artist in the act of making.

@thejonoscott@NPortnell suppose aliens figured out it was a sound recording and managed to build a turntable. Now, how suppose they calibrate the playback speed to the "correct" setting without knowing what a human "minute" is? Maybe NASA provided a definition relative to the half-life of some element?
@composinghab21 amazing film for sure. great use of ligeti, among other brilliant music choices. Just saw it in a theatre at my local indie theatre in Spring.
@theoae my vote is Henri Dutilleux or Witold Lutosławski.
Neither is totally obscure, but a shame it's not easier to hear their incredible orchestration in person.
@aquilanebula no perfect recording of the set, but many good ones out there special in their own way. Two I've enjoyed that haven't been mentioned in the thread yet are Tokyo String Quartet (DG), and the Fine Arts Quartet (Bärenreiter).
@christapeterso toooo far!! I just think the pictures are neat. yet, I recognize and celebrate that the obsessive detail is probably other people's favourite part. to each their own!?
and here is free/composed ep. 20 'water music', which winds its way through divers water-y program musics; from mountain springs, meandering rivers, swimming fish, and water vapour in clouds, to ocean waves, rain, and water as a human right. listen here: https://t.co/NWQ1voKQe6
