What @graphprotocol is building with GRC-20 is truly a game changer.
The coming swarms ai agents will fundamentally reshape how we interact with digital systems and knowledge. As billions of these agents come online - from education to healthcare to finance - they'll need standardized ways to access apis, tools, and information. rather than letting this become a chaotic free-for-all, knowledge graphs provide an elegant solution for implementing governance at the protocol level. these structured representations of information and their relationships give us a way to guide how ai agents interpret and generate content.
The beauty of using knowledge graphs for ai governance is that they can encode both explicit rules and implicit patterns about how information should flow and combine. we can build in checks and balances directly into the knowledge representation layer that ai agents interact with. This creates an "ecology of mind" as gregory bateson would say - a system of interacting patterns that naturally guides behavior without heavy-handed control. The knowledge graphs become like a frenquency tuner for ai agents, shaping how they make connections while still allowing for emergence and creativity.
Importantly, this approach recognizes that we can't control ai agents through pure restriction, but we can influence them through the structure of the knowledge environments they inhabit.
From GRC-20: “RDF is the W3C standard for triples data. A new standard is necessary for web3 for several reasons”. Check out the reasons here: https://t.co/QgttNFbH23
The Graph's utility token $GRT isn't just cryptocurrency - it's a critical mechanism for network security, incentivizing high-quality data indexing and ensuring reliable blockchain information.
Shoutout to all the developers building and publishing subgraphs on The Graph 💪
Your work has created a thriving decentralized data ecosystem that supports all of web3 💻 💜
Knowledge graphs are changing how AI understands data!
The GRC-20 spec from @geoprotocol introduces web3-native standards for organizing information, making it more accessible & reliable for AI applications ☑️
✨ Shaping the future of decentralized knowledge
Here’s the actual GRC-20 spec ✨
If you’re technical and you dive in, you’ll find the blueprint for a whole new world.

6️⃣ Reintroducing The Graph’s Core Developer Teams: @geoprotocol
Geo is a web3 browser and knowledge graph app. The team is working on bringing forward new ways to cooperate using knowledge graphs and governance systems. The project was initially unveiled at Graph Day in 2022 and is led by @yanivgraph, one of the founders of The Graph.
Here are some of Geo’s contributions to The Graph ecosystem:
💡 Defining standards for composable knowledge graphs
🧩 Implementing new curation mechanisms for organizing knowledge and information
🌐 Building user interfaces for browsing and contributing to The Graph
🌉 Using web3 to address local challenges, starting with homelessness in San Francisco
Much of Geo’s work so far has been tested with select groups. The public availability of Geo Genesis is coming soon. Keep your eyes open for exciting new developments that will enable the next gen web3 applications on The Graph.
So excited to introduce the world to years of work & experimentation to find the right primatives for knowledge.
Introducing GRC-20 🎉
A new knowledge graph standard on The Graph. We can now create open, verifiable and *composable* applications creating a whole new web 🌈
Knowledge Graphs are the key to creating interoperable applications across organizations & realizing the vision of web3!
With the intro of the GRC-20 knowledge graph standard, we now have the foundation for an interoperable web. Please leave feedback. We want to hear from you 🙌
✨ The Graph is pioneering a new data standard for web3 with GRC-20, a proposed common language for data across web3.
Just as ERC-20 standardized value on Ethereum, GRC-20 will standardize data, information & knowledge and bring web3 to life 🌐
