⚡️ Ukrainians destroy a bridge with drones for the first time — The Telegraph

The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a unique operation that lasted about two months. The target was a bridge over the Konka River, which Russian forces used to supply positions on the islands and shell Kherson.

According to The Telegraph, Ukrainian forces initially tried to destroy the crossing using conventional means — airstrikes and HIMARS. However, the bridge proved too resilient, and these attacks failed to achieve the desired result.

The breakthrough came after a Russian soldier published a photo taken directly under the bridge structure. The image revealed vulnerable elements of the supports — and that’s exactly where the strikes were focused.

The 426th Marine Corps Unmanned Systems Regiment then joined the operation. They developed a special 50 kg shaped charge designed for precise structural damage. Instead of trying to destroy the bridge from above, Ukrainian forces began systematically weakening it from below.

For this, they used heavy British Malloy T-150 drones. These drones can carry significant payloads, effectively serving as “flying platforms.” They approached the bridge and carefully lowered explosive charges on cables directly onto the identified weak points beneath the supports.

Such missions were repeated dozens of times over roughly two months. During this period, up to 1.5 tons of explosives were reportedly delivered, gradually critically weakening the structure.

In the end, once the bridge was sufficiently damaged and had lost its integrity, a final missile strike brought it down.

Interestingly, the Malloy T-150 was originally designed as a cargo drone, not a weapon. But Ukraine has once again shown how civilian technology can be adapted to real battlefield conditions.

Ik snap de ophef over de uitvaart niet, wanneer je vanaf je 18e gewoon een uitvaartverzekering afsluit betaal je echt geen hoofdprijs en laat je je nabestaanden niet berooid achter.
