@laravel Laravel 13.x ported to Rust using Opus 5.5. Crazy how close to the original this is.
I'm going to benchmark it against the PHP version next. Stay tuned.

In the middle of porting @laravel to Rust. Gave Opus 5.5 a dead simple basic prompt, pointed it at the latest version of the original PHP framework repo and said "go".
After 8 hours and 20 minutes, it finally finished. No starter kits or other third-party libraries yet except for Socialite (for some reason Opus thought that was worth adding) and Sanctum. Right now it's just old-school blade for the frontend, implemented in Rust.
It really shows how much hard work has been poured into this framework when it takes Opus 5.5 a human's full day of work just to get the basic core framework out.
I'm having Opus work on a demo video. Will post it soon. Stay tuned.
@SeanPTalbot@laravel For sure! Let me know how it goes and if you get stuck on anything. One thing I noticed is that `cargo artisan` is definitely slower than `php artisan` because of compiled vs. interpreted, respectively. However, the performance after building is the opposite.

Since I started using AI, I now struggle with trying to do TOO many things at the same time. All that time waiting between agents to complete feels like time wasted, so I start yet ANOTHER task.
I am currently working on about 7 different projects and I struggle to keep up with myself.
@PovilasKorop Yes and no. I wouldn't start a business around it or expect them to go viral, but it's a great way to preconfigure your Laravel projects and get you OOTB consistency and save tokens.
I built a starter kit for Shopify apps using Laravel and it has saved me time and tokens.
@erdinckocaman@PovilasKorop Domain knowledge can be learned rather quickly by letting domain experts vent about their problems. People love to talk about their problems. They might spend 10 years accruing the pain, just to tell you it all in 10 seconds.
@GamewithDave https://t.co/8zSe1ahPtz Nations Reborn
Multiplayer RTS game Ive been constantly working on for fun lately, based off Rise of Nations and Age of Empires, but more economically, diplomatically, and militarily deeper.
@laravel DAMN. Laravel Rust on the top end is clocking 7.6x faster than Laravel Octane and 11x times less memory footprint. ๐คฏ

As a kid, I was a huge fan of the real-time strategy game of Rise of Nations (PC, not Roblox). It was like Age of Empires, but more militarily and diplomatically rich. One of the things I always wanted was to play a massive, long-running, politically complex, multiplayer RTS session that was based in real nation-states (not mythical fantasy) and RoN mostly delivered there, but was limited to 8 countries and the biggest map wasn't big enough for me.
I've been working on my own free-to-play version of it called Nations Reborn https://t.co/d9pTvD8HS2. My favorite thing to do is play on the massive "World" map with 12 countries. I'm planning to expand this to 16 and eventually as many as I can fit without needing to put GPUs on the server.
Unlike RoN's 24 countries, there's 32 countries in Nations Reborn, each with their own unique advantages related to their country. I am going to be adding more and more features, and more and more depth to the diplomacy features as well without sacrificing the real-time aspect and the traditional RTS feel.
