We're excited to announce a major new free feature: Live Queen Finder.
Use https://t.co/AuDnngx1D4 app on your mobile phone while in the field to detect queen bees in real time using your camera. As the queen moves across the frame, we automatically spot her. Give it a try!
We've improved hive frame positioning so that you could place frames wherever you like and drag frames between sections
We also now have editable frame cells canvas that should allow you to correct ratio and distribution of resources across frames
Just shipped Warehouse — a new feature in that helps beekeepers track what hive equipment they actually have in stock. You define your hive systems (Langstroth, Dadant, Warre, etc.), and the app keeps a live count of sections, frames, and parts per system — automatically synced
New feature for power users: context-specific keyboard shortcuts (with Shift+?) with visible keyboard hints right in the interface.
Shortcuts now adapt to what you’re doing on screen, so common actions are faster and easier to discover without breaking your flow.
Beekeepers have been using hive bottom boards for a long time to count falling varroa mites to estimate infestation levels. Now you can automate this counting in our app similar to how you can automatically count bees.
Our apiary view got an improvement with hive placement feature. Now you can place your hives on local "map" to remember which hive is where, place buildings or trees, see shadows getting cast by the sun, move hives around and see their flight directions. Try it out now!
New feature release! Splitting bee colony is now easier than ever. Just click a button, choose which frames you want to move and voila, new family is born!
Bulk frame side photo upload is here! Now if you do visual photoshoot of your beehive inspection and you are left with dozen of photos, you do not need to upload them one by one into the app, you can do it in bulk and photos will get assigned to the frame sides automagically
Small public IoT sensors API update. We've added support to post multiple metrics with single request and ability to set custom timestamp. This should allow IoT devices to reduce frequency of network calls and collect their measurements locally, boosting device battery life.
Our entrance-observer can now generate daily heatmaps based on bee track data. This can help to understand efficiency of landings depending on flight or weather patterns, detect stationary bees guarding the hive. But mostly because this looks cool.
Entrance-observer now has more metrics!
Also we have now added polyline tracks of individual bees. This allows us to track speed of bees (in pixel though :D )
We have improved Entrance observer by adding a UI, testing telemetry reporting of bee movement to the cloud, testing it on Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano and on Mac devices.
UI now allows to set various settings and see 24h bee traffic with more data in the Gratheon web-app
New season started and we got some updates. Apart from speeding up some AI detections, we got cosmetic changes in the UI:
- Drone brood resource slider
- Worker bee count indicator
- Varroa mite count indicator
- Queen name generation
- Queen checkboxes
