Yesterday I took my client bowling for the first time and he was so excited, but then I realized he ages out next year so we only have one year left to go out and have fun before I stop working with him 😭😭😭 I’m depressed

My client hasn’t bit me in almost a year and of course the day I feel like I’m dying & being sick, I go in & an hour into the session he decides to chomp down on my arm while he’s in a tantrum🙃 now my arm is swollen but at least he didn’t break skin bc I was wearing a sweater 😅

It was picture day today and I can’t wait for my kids mom to see his picture, he would not smile so I had to tickle him and duck behind but the smile in the picture is everything 🥹

@AlmaPervinca Yes because I was being trained and my supervisor left the floor and I didn’t read the IEP when I got choked out and I denied the kid a request for something they should have gotten so it was my supervisors fault for leaving me unsupervised and my fault for not reading 😂

I work with people with autism and they never attack you for no reason. I’ve been choked, picked up by my neck with my feet off the ground, bit, punched, kicked etc. You HAVE to be trained and read the IEP and BIPs. This is 100% the schools fault.

this is going to be a controversial take but i’m sorry, a behavior plan is put in place for this reason. you do not take away an autistic persons possessions without warning or reading how to do so. If you’re working with Autistic children you HAVE to follow the IEP so this doesn’t happen. if this child was this violent then he simply shouldn’t have been in a public school setting so that’s a failure on the system. many steps were missed before this child acted violently

I get beat up at work everyday but people don’t understand that I literally get beat up 10+ times throughout my 3 hour sessions 😂 this was a good/easy day 🥲
