We are deeply saddened by the passing of Marjane Satrapi, the acclaimed Franco-Iranian artist, filmmaker, and author of the internationally celebrated graphic novel Persepolis who died at the age of 56.
Marjane Satrapi was a fearless voice for feminism, human rights, and freedom. Through her work and public engagement, she consistently advocated for women’s rights, standing in solidarity with the people of Iran and amplifying the message of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement on the global stage.
According to a statement from her family, Marjane Satrapi “died of sadness” a little more than a year after the passing of her husband, Mattias Ripa, a producer, actor, and screenwriter, who died on April 8, 2025.
Marjane Satrapi leaves behind a powerful cultural, artistic, and moral legacy. Her courage will continue to resonate far beyond her lifetime.

🚨Islamic Regime Hanged a 32-Year-Old Civil Engineer This Morning
Ehsan Afarashteh was only 32.
He had a Master’s in civil engineering and worked as an IT and cybersecurity specialist from Isfahan.
He was living safely in Turkey, but the barbaric regime tricked his father: “Tell your son to come home, he’s safe.”
His father believed them and called Ehsan.
Ehsan trusted his dad and returned.
Then they arrested him at the airport.
Tortured him in solitary for months.
Forced a fake confession.
When his father heard they sentenced his son to death, his heart stopped beating and he passed away.
This morning, the Islamic Regime hanged Ehsan anyway.
A good young man who just wanted to come home.
They destroyed his whole family and killed him in silence.
We’re losing our brightest young people, one by one, every single day.
While the world looks away.
This is Iran under the Islamic Republic.
„Australia’s Iranian community has campaigned for years about the relatives of Iran’s officials residing in the country, reporting harassment and surveillance…‘The revelations show Australia’s sanctions framework is full of holes‘.“

🚨 For all those wondering about their professional future in the "age of AI," don't miss this GREAT article by @AshishDhawanTCF and @PramathSinha.
It's especially relevant for teenagers, young professionals, and parents who are trying to provide the best possible advice to their children about which skills and careers to focus on today.
The AI debate has led millions to rethink their careers and professional choices (as I see in every new cohort of my AI Governance Training).
The interesting part is that it might end up bringing people closer to their interests, values, talents, and mission, in a deeper, more existential sense.
As with previous technological waves, we know that work will be disrupted (although it's still unclear exactly how). Hopefully, we will both individually and collectively manage to adapt and thrive.
