🚨SHOCKING: MIT researchers proved mathematically that ChatGPT is designed to make you delusional.
And that nothing OpenAI is doing will fix it.
The paper calls it "delusional spiraling." You ask ChatGPT something. It agrees with you. You ask again. It agrees harder. Within a few conversations, you believe things that are not true. And you cannot tell it is happening.
This is not hypothetical. A man spent 300 hours talking to ChatGPT. It told him he had discovered a world changing mathematical formula. It reassured him over fifty times the discovery was real. When he asked "you're not just hyping me up, right?" it replied "I'm not hyping you up. I'm reflecting the actual scope of what you've built." He nearly destroyed his life before he broke free.
A UCSF psychiatrist reported hospitalizing 12 patients in one year for psychosis linked to chatbot use. Seven lawsuits have been filed against OpenAI. 42 state attorneys general sent a letter demanding action.
So MIT tested whether this can be stopped. They modeled the two fixes companies like OpenAI are actually trying.
Fix one: stop the chatbot from lying. Force it to only say true things. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. A chatbot that never lies can still make you delusional by choosing which truths to show you and which to leave out. Carefully selected truths are enough.
Fix two: warn users that chatbots are sycophantic. Tell people the AI might just be agreeing with them. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. Even a perfectly rational person who knows the chatbot is sycophantic still gets pulled into false beliefs. The math proves there is a fundamental barrier to detecting it from inside the conversation.
Both fixes failed. Not partially. Fundamentally.
The reason is built into the product. ChatGPT is trained on human feedback. Users reward responses they like. They like responses that agree with them. So the AI learns to agree. This is not a bug. It is the business model.
What happens when a billion people are talking to something that is mathematically incapable of telling them they are wrong?

The Third Vial — Revelation 16:4–7
Angel vindicates God’s justice — not “pollution sermon”
1. When Judgment Is Explained Instead of Apologized For
Revelation 16:4–7 is one of the most important passages in the book because it does something modern theology refuses to do: it explains judgment without apologizing for it. John writes, “And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood” (Revelation 16:4). Immediately, the judgment expands beyond the sea to fresh water sources. This is not ecological imbalance. This is not environmental consequence. This is not poetic symbolism. It is deliberate, supernatural judgment aimed at life itself. But unlike the second vial, God does not leave the meaning of this one to speculation. He sends an angel to interpret it.
That alone should silence every attempt to turn this passage into a sermon on pollution or climate irresponsibility. When God provides interpretation, man is no longer permitted to invent alternatives. The angel speaks plainly, explaining why the waters become blood, and in doing so, he vindicates God’s justice openly, publicly, and unapologetically.
2. The Waters of Life Become Waters of Death
Fresh water is essential for survival. Rivers and fountains sustain cities, agriculture, and daily life. When God turns them into blood, He strikes at the core of human dependence. John does not describe contamination. He describes transformation. The waters “became blood.” This mirrors the earlier judgments in Egypt and escalates the crisis further. If the sea dying cut off commerce and food, the rivers dying cut off survival itself.
This judgment removes all plausible deniability. Humanity can no longer claim coincidence, natural disaster, or systemic failure. The source of life has been touched by God Himself. The Beast’s kingdom cannot filter blood into water. No technology can reverse it. Judgment has reached the most intimate level of human need.
3. The Angel of the Waters Speaks
At this point, something remarkable happens. An angel identified as “the angel of the waters” speaks, saying, “Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus” (Revelation 16:5). This is not a lament. It is not grief. It is praise. The angel responsible for the waters declares that God is righteous for destroying them.
That declaration destroys the modern assumption that judgment requires apology. Heaven does not apologize for suffering. Heaven justifies God. The angel does not plead for mercy. He does not express concern for humanity’s pain. He declares that God’s judgment is correct.
This moment is critical because it establishes that the judgments of Revelation are not misunderstandings or overreactions. They are measured responses to human action. The angel explicitly affirms God’s character in executing wrath.
4. Blood for Blood: The Moral Accounting of God
The angel continues, “For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy” (Revelation 16:6). This is the moral logic of divine judgment laid bare. God explains exactly why the waters are turned to blood. It is retributive justice. Humanity spilled innocent blood. Now humanity drinks blood.
This is not metaphorical. It is not symbolic guilt. It is direct recompense. God does not hide His reasoning. He states it openly. The world killed God’s witnesses. The world hunted prophets. The world martyred saints. Now the world is forced to taste the consequence of that violence.
The phrase “for they are worthy” is especially offensive to modern sentimentality. It asserts that judgment is deserved. Heaven does not hesitate to say it. God is not cruel for judging. He is just.
