Look. Yes, Nikki is a rape victim. Her autonomy was stolen from her. Bear FUCKING SUCKS. But I also think it’s really not surprising whatsoever that they want “possessed” Nikki, a horror icon from the biggest horror movie of the year, a movie that surpassed The Exorcist (which also included the incredibly iconic Regan who was stripped of her autonomy as well, and SA’d) in box office, as a character at HHN. Half of our horror icons are people who were victims of various types of abuse. Jennifer from Jennifer’s Body. Carrie White. Jason Vorhees. Samara Morgan from The Ring. The list goes on. It’s NOT surprising at all. Curry Barker himself stated it was his dream to have Nikki at HHN, and they rushed to make it happen. This unique, micro-budget horror film with an iconic and tragic main character is getting its recognition for being iconic, just like all the others!
I think anyone who comes down hard on one side or the other of this question is missing the point. The movie very deliberately keeps Nikki's feelings ambiguous because it doesn't matter whether or not she liked him back, he took the choice away from her with that wish.
And yes, it IS directly the Trump Administration's fault that we have parasites in our food. They cut funding from the CDC and the FDA. You should be pissed! Not because it's Trump, but because the government doesn't care if we live or die.
