@PanasonicDX4500 They more than made up for their delayed Road to Damascus moment by, in part, adopting the Battle Hymn of the Republic, a song about how God had called upon them to free slaves and rain down holy vengeance against slavers.
@poppy_haze Whenever I recommend this one I always say that's it's one of the only bittersweet series I can think of that ends without anyone getting sick or dying or the couple splitting up.
Me: Hey, is this one of the rooms with missing paintings?
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum employee: No.
Me: *pulling on a balaclava* Well, it's about to be.
And that's how I found out good, tight comedy is still illegal.
@poppy_haze It's eerie how visibly rehearsed his "aw shucks" demeanor is versus anyone else who talks about this and simply lays it out as a savvy business decision.
@Mericamemed I've never understood the "draw, fire once, reload, fire again" drill. Are they switching from practice to carry ammo, anticipating a failure?
@sapphicslike I can't get over the astronomical coincidence that they were able to cast four talented actresses who are all spot-on lookalikes for their characters.
@john34766308 I would always tell my ESL students, "never be embarrassed to have difficulty speaking a second language; some people can't even speak their first."
@xm_muva I worked in an office that outsourced its IT support to the Philippines. Many of the techs did have slight accents, but they were all fluent in English. Almost everyone who had to call for support bitched about how hard it was to deal with them and I couldn't understand why.
@HowieHedde I'm not a monarchist, but the literal king of Norway is an outspoken advocate for multiculturalism in Norway. Imagine thinking you know more about who is and isn't Norwegian than the king of the place.
