Must obey is not accurate for me. I choose to eat what God said is food because of who he is. I do not impose that on anyone or think less of anyone who does not. It’s hard to ignore when verses get twisted out of context. Verse in mark has nothing to do with changing dietary instructions from God. Neither does acts 10. That’s my concern.
@MeraSaltNu@rabbriansamuel At that point in mark what was food was not the issue.
And I agree with you that food does not defile. But if one in that setting lets say chose to eat outside of Gods prescribed diet it would have been disobedience that come from the heart. The same applies across the board.
Those are two separate things even though both were being called out they were separate. Both have their own definitions in strongs concordance. Just as the council of Jerusalem separated the two no food sacrificed to idols and no sexual immorality also ( no blood and no strangled meat). Where paul talks about food sacrificed to idols is 2 chapters 8-10. While saying idols are nothing he also says don’t sit at tables with demons. Don’t provoke the Lord to jealousy don’t be a stumbling block if you are told it is sacrificed to idols don’t eat it. So Paul basically says if you eat it unknowingly it means nothing if you eat it in front of others Jew or gentile converts you are guilty because of their conscience. If you are told it’s sacrificed to idols don’t eat it so every plausible scenario where it would be knowingly eaten is wrong the most important reason being Jesus said NO apostles at Jerusalem council said NO and Paul to not eat it knowingly. Anyways read 8-10 to really grasp all that he was saying or it is out of alignment with Christ and his Apostles.
@MeraSaltNu@rabbriansamuel They are only clear because that’s what you were taught and subsequently accepted. Both of these are explained and neither are about changing what God said is food.
@Bible_Doctrines@rabbriansamuel So much so that he was perplexed even after being at the unwashed hands episode. Makes you ask why either verse is used to debate what is food prescribed by God. Jesus explains his statement and so does Peter.
Had nothing to do with acts unless you try to figure out where Peter missed the memo. Peter explains his dream as the Holy Spirit revealed it to him. Let’s the reader know it’s about people that were considered unclean. So when you remove those two verses from the idea that God decided he doesn’t care about what one eats what do we have left.
That’s partially correct but also he said what he meant further down. Tradition said eating food without washing hands made it unclean and therefore made the person unclean. Christ set the record straight they were adding to the Word. Thus he declared all “foods clean can be applicable” in that setting vs tradition!
Have them think the building is the church/tabernacle. Overcoming sin isn’t possible. Doing what God says is legalism. Taking of oaths means nothing. Holy days are any day and we can just call them holidays. The American dream is in alignment with kingdom work. Worldly Nationalism can be mixed with the kingdom of heaven. Don’t worry about what other do because of the log in your eye instead of getting it out to help others see.
@TrollFootball2 And Niger means black in Latin. I wonder sometimes if the xtra g was just someone yelling it ya know like in anger maybe. Someone heard it and thought that’s how it’s pronounced 🤷🏻♂️Maybe this is one of the words that causes us to yell our baby names before making it official.
There’s not much of a choice but to use some of it. I use it but I’m also learning/teaching my kids self sufficiency. When you look at how fast the world has turned to government for everything it’s easy to see pieces of the plan though. Consumerism led by a prior generation has been a catalyst.
@TXWrestlingGirl@EBTtok In these times I do agree that it’s not a good idea my point is it was a teachable moment for the kid not an opportunity for aggressive behavior from adult. The child was harmless and needed correction and understanding. The grown ladies both need some perspective
