@martinmacmahon@tweetbot Tweetbot shows tweets in pure chronological order which is my preference (though very difficult if you are following lots of people). And it syncs your timeline scroll position across devices.
With @tweetbot no longer working I'll be saying goodbye to Twitter. I've seen what my timeline looks like when I'm not in control and I'm not interested. Hopefully some of the stragglers will still make their way to Mastodon 🤞🏻.
💯 this. Onboarding junior developers (which is one of my favorite parts of this job!) is so much harder. I hate when they ask why something works some way and I can't give them a satisfying answer because it's buried six feet deep in a package of a package of a package.
I'm okay with frameworks folks. I've even written a few in my day. But the current ecosystem of popular frameworks is awful. They feel esoteric, unapproachable for new people, they don't introduce people to web fundamentals. And most of them make your app slower by default.
I'm always tickled and when white dudes put "views are mine and not those of my employer" in their bio. It's packed with so much subtext about what kind of person you're dealing with. The smugness, the faux logic, the deference to hierarchy while trying to take up space.
I wish more tech “leaders” (I can’t emphasize enough sarcasm in that word) took @polotek’s evergreen advice that shutting up is free. Every day a new drama because some dude detached from reality opened his mouth.
A year and a half since DHH pulled the mask off and I'm honestly embarrassed at how positively I used to look at him and Basecamp. I'd like to think I was duped but I probably wasn't looking hard enough.
