as a disabled woman myself, i’m not gonna lie. this “we disabled women” take is some of the most ableist stuff i’ve seen in a while. don’t lump all of us into your narrative.😩

disabled people are just as worthy of real love and relationships as anyone else. the movie doesn’t fetishize her disability— it actually shows a man who sees her first, loves who she actually is, and yes, helps her when she needs it. she desperately wants to see the ocean. wheelchairs don’t work in deep sand. so he carries her. that’s not some weird kink— that’s just partnership.🥲

being loved properly and supported when i need it isn’t “fetishization.” if a man actually wanting to take care of his partner makes him a fetishist, then i guess i’m kinky as hell for wanting the same thing. last I checked, that’s pretty vanilla. it’s wild how y’all turn basic human connection into something gross. 🫩

As a wheelchair user I found this a very more accurate movie in terms of how we feel and live our disability, I would like y'all to point that anger to A SILENT VOICE, ugh.
