Our culture assumes that something is wrong with us if we're content with what we own and aren't constantly looking for bigger and better. We've grown so accustomed to this message of acquiring that we don't even realize the extent to which we define ourselves by the created world.
Sadly, too many leaders, schools, & denominations have taken the same destructive path when leaving the faith:
1-Question the inerrancy & authority of Scripture
2-Begin to compromise on sexual sin
3-Challenge the validity of Jesus & penal substitutionary atonement
4-Ascribe to Universalism &
completely leave anything that looks like Biblical faith
Don't trust leaders that don't trust the Bible, because they're always heading somewhere.
@PaulWorcester Mobilizing students to where they already are (where they live, where they study, where they play) is the keystone to mobilizing them to lifelong mission. Helping them see that it does not take a plane ride or long trip to advance the Kingdom of God.

If I could eliminate one phrase on Sunday mornings it would be this: "Let me offer a quick prayer." Actually, to lead God's people in prayer may be one of the most important moments in an assembly. Let us slow down and just pray.
You watch a preacher long enough, he will disappoint you.
You attend a church long enough, it will let you down in some way.
You serve in a ministry for some time, you will get hurt.
All of these are true but it does not mean you quit, get bitter or leave.
It does mean that you forgive, stay steadfast and focussed on Jesus.
Pray for your pastor. Be faithful in your local church. Serve others.
