The Imperial War Museum has decided to close the gallery that has the largest collection of Victoria Crosses in the world.
It took 40 years for @LordAshcroft to build this collection of over 200 VCs and a smaller one of George Crosses.
They are the highest gallantry awards that can be awarded by Britain and the Commonwealth - and have been on display for the past 15 years.
Now the museum has decided to close the gallery in a frankly inexplicable move.
What could be more fitting for this museum than a commemoration of the most remarkable acts of bravery amongst our servicemen?
@I_W_M should hold their head in shame - as Churchill once said, ‘a nation that forgets its past has no future’.
For every retweet of this post, I will donate £1 to the @VC_and_GC_Assoc up to £50,000.
Time is running out following @I_W_M’s decision to close the Lord Ashcroft Gallery.
Visit while you still can, to honour the bravery of those who risked so much to protect our great nation.

Please @antmiddleton help save this incredible display of VCs at the @I_W_M London. It’s a disgrace that this will be closing this week. 😡 #whatisgoingon
