@notnotnotdussya@Namikako_@TheGuyestLame While i do think think Noelle will join the party, excluding the possibility of her not is dumb. Rudy is currently at his deathbed, Noelle's mind is occupied with more important things - it's possible that the build up was just Susie's naivety and not knowing the situation.
@JohnDohn574517@ners_xd@doggsul Genuinely the only thing i could see being expanded upon is the chapter 2 weird route, which i do have some problems with. The rest - literally what could you add? Snowgrave genocides in 3&4 again?
@ners_xd@doggsul I think this is just the result of deltarune turning out much bigger than initially intended. The WR sequences were probably planned out way far ahead, and there's not much else to expand on them. They'd probably stand out more since the whole game was much smaller.
@mwah6708@Luffgod5 I don't think it's foreshadowing, but rather exploring similar concepts in a different context, denying them having any similarities is just being ignorant on purpose imo.
@_gurusandhu_ I doubt Spamton's relevance was an afterthought, he had the pink&yellow glasses since chapter 2, he was always supposed to be more important than the other Shadow Crystal bosses.
@TheBlanker2@lyrical_spl There's also the Ferris Wheel scene with Noelle.
She talks about how when they were little, her and Kris and wanted to be King and Queen of Festival, but they couldn't decide who should be King or Queen.
That is i think the most direct way the game addressed Kris' identify.
@TheBlanker2@lyrical_spl They're kinda not up to interpretation? They're their own person, and they/them is their pronouns of choice
Toriel, the parent, uses them too
Also, on the 6th anniversary stream, someone referred to Kris as a "he", and Toby repeated their sentence using "they", correcting them.
@Emeraldt9i@gunhildeai3626@ChataCabraFan@toastwings The whole route plays with uncomfortable romantic undertones. Noelle's weapons being rings, "We're something else", Spamton's "YOU'VE BEEN MAKING, HAVEN'T YOU", and a whole bunch of other stuff.
At the very least it plays with themes of coersion and abusive relationships.
@Emeraldt9i@gunhildeai3626@ChataCabraFan@toastwings I don't think it's actually SA, but it's a pretty obvious and strong allegory for it. He probably changed it because people took the imagery too literall. And Toby's a grown man, he knows exaclty what he's putting in his games.
