🚨🔵 Chelsea are in negotiations with Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez camp over possible late move.
The Argentinian goalkeeper has been offered to #CFC as Suzuki will be the starting GK at Villa, as @David_Ornstein reports.
Talks ongoing; Chelsea considering this option. Dibu, keen.
Chelsea are genuinely excited to see Enzo Fernandez under the guidance of legendary midfielder Xabi Alonso, and this is one reason why no cut price deal has been considered.
Fernandez is also seen as having the superior CV and experience in comparison to other midfield deals this summer.
The offer of £103.5m was understood to be verbal, not formal, and was turned away.
Fernandez has a long contract so there is no rush to panic on that end, although the player wants a hefty pay rise which has so far caused the difference between parties, as well as the want to play in the Champions League and progress his career after a period of instability at Chelsea with chopping and changing managers.
It remains one to watch over the next few days, but Chelsea are currently viewing the situation as being moved on from until further notice.
Gianni Infantino surely cannot survive as FIFA president now. UEFA, AFC and CONCACAF have begun preliminary discussions about the possibility of organizing competitions among themselves to ensure that players can continue to compete - such as in the Women’s Under-20s World Cup which starts in less than a month - and are not impacted by the ongoing crisis surrounding Gianni Infantino.
The message from the three confederations to Infantino is very clear. He is being given the opportunity to resign and leave his position with dignity. He has the opportunity to go now and should not seek re-election in March. Because the pressure, the heat and the headlines are not going away. Change has to come. Infantino has to go.
