With @ethereum turning 10, I'm excited to be one of the ten touch bearers. I learned about Ethereum in 2017 and started as a community contributor in 2019.

Attending ETHCC in 2020 showed me that everyone and anyone is welcome in Ethereum. Training developers for the Ethereum ecosystem and supporting the growth of Etheruem in Africa has been a pleasure and a privilege, and I'm committed to keep giving it my best!

Being among the touch bearers is an opportunity I don't take for granted.

🎉 Devcon 2024 Recap: My First IRL Devcon! 🌍✨

1/ On Nov 4th, I left Lagos for Bangkok, Thailand, to attend my first-ever IRL Devcon! I arrived a week early to meet up with my amazing @Streameth team. 🛫🏙️

We prepped hard, ran stress tests, and ensured the platform could handle the massive traffic coming our way. 🚀

5/ Lessons Learned:

- Make time to network (I’ll do better at the next event!)
- Adjust to time zones earlier (I missed way too many breakfasts 🥲).
- Never stop learning and connecting—networking is everything.

As @EFDevcon closing ceremony ends, I'm more excited to spotlight @greatsamuelojo and @knight_deve alumni @Web3Bridge who made it as 2 of the 3 black persons on the lead volunteer team of Devcon 2024.

Samuel gave his best to @Web3LagosCon 2023 to ensure that we didn't just captured the best video but we produced the best livestream and this got him to join @streameth, today together with Eric and the other Streameth team they have handled the livestream of the biggest Devcon yet! Glad to continue to see impact and result in real-time!

Congratulations also to the other nine (9) alumni who like me made it to our first Devcon

While thinking about @Web3LagosCon this morning, it dawn on me that most of us event organizers in Nigeria runs our event just as the way religious camps are ran;
- We want everyone to be seated and less noise.

- We want everyone in the same hall and have ushers take attendance.

- We are concerned about participants learning particular lessons from the conference.

Compared to what happened in the West with side events, people moving around booths and only attending sessions that aligns with them while they spend more time networking and doing whatever aligns with the reason they decided to attend the conference.

Speaking with the conference speaker selection team earlier this morning, we will be breaking this "rule" at this year's conference.

We will have a curated list of event categories where speakers apply to speak and each individual can decide which category of talks/conversations they want to have.

We will open our booths for the three days and let sponsors and attendees interact and relate for the three days.

We will also give rooms to top sponsors to host their workshops, side events and all as they see fit during the days of this workshop.

The impact of the previously held Web3 Lagos conference is still been felt (heard a good number of feedback even from East Africa and Europe) and this year's event is set to redefine Web3 conference hosting in Africa.

We have opened call for sponsorship and we are expecting various categories of sponsors

We will be opening call for Volunteers and speakers in the coming days.

I've heard a number of people asked how @Web3Bridge got/qualified for @Optimism RetroPGF and how our Devs got qualified for @Starknet token allocation, we will be consciously having a categories for open source contribution and public goods and we will poaching experts in the ecosystem around the world to come speak in this category physically.
