I used AI to build a simulator recreating history's worst stock crashes.
$1,000 to start. Real stock, real prices, moving live. Sell before greed wipes you out.
First one I tried lost 99.7% of its value. I watched it live — and didn't sell in time.
Here's what went wrong 🧵👇
@HeyOscarx One she didn't mention: US law (DOT) requires every airline to let you cancel ANY ticket within 24 hours of booking for a full cash refund — no fee, even on "non-refundable" fares — as long as you booked 7+ days before departure, direct with the airline.
@AlecTorelli Kahneman & Tversky's actual number for loss aversion is λ≈2.25 — people need the payout ~2.25x the risk before accepting a bet, not 1.25x like here.
So the room wasn't overreacting. The real bug is applying that reflex to a $100 bet the same way as a $100k one.
@andreysuperior The "stomach" part is underrated. Isaac Newton — the guy who invented calculus — sold his South Sea Company shares early for a 100% profit, then watched it keep climbing, FOMO'd back in near the top, and lost £20,000 (~$3M today).
Not a knowledge problem. A stomach problem.

Both modes test the same thing in different ways: do you know when enough is enough?
Try both. See how far greed — or speed — gets you

I built a game where you catch falling cash — but every bill makes the bag more likely to tear.
Cash out anytime. Or keep catching and risk losing every dollar in one second.

I got greedy on my first run. Lost $340. 🧵👇
There's a second mode too: 10 levels, each with a cash target and a time limit.
Bills fall faster every single level. No bag-breaking risk here — just pure speed. Level 8 nearly broke me.

This exact pattern — sell smart, watch it climb, buy back out of pure FOMO, get wiped out — is the entire premise behind The Greed Test.
Think you'd have done better than Newton? Link in the next reply 👇
The smartest man who ever lived once lost his fortune to FOMO.
Not a crypto bro. Not a Reddit trader.
Isaac Newton — the guy who invented calculus and explained gravity itself. 🧵👇
He reportedly refused to let anyone say the words "South Sea" in his presence for the rest of his life.
The man who calculated the orbits of planets couldn't calculate the psychology of a crowd.

If you can't identify these banknotes, you don't get to call yourself a "finance guy."
I blurred the country name off 20 real currencies. 8 seconds each. Speed + accuracy = your score.
I got 3 wrong. On money I've literally held.
Free, no signup, takes about a minute. Every round pulls a different random 6 out of 20 — you can't just memorize it.
So — are you actually a finance guy, or not?

I built the whole thing with AI — research, design, code. No team, few hours. And even knowing exactly how every story ends, I still couldn't sell at the top. Greed doesn't care that you know the ending. Free, no signup. See how long you last 👇
