Working overseas I constantly encounter Canada’s declining performance in international security, banking and investment circles. Seeing it, I feel compelled to write about it - but it’s pretty niche.
So yesterday I was amazed to see popular liberal comedian and commentator Bill Maher dedicate an entire opening to tell his vast audience why Canada has become a ‘cautionary tale’ - citing facts you don’t often hear in the Cdn press. Our higher unemployment, more expensive housing, worse combined debt, worst mortgage debt, loss of control over immigration levels, lack of common sense and protecting kids on trans issues, and ranking dead last last amping high income nation on healthcare results among advanced economies, worse than America now.
Maher closed hard: “I love Canada and I always have… but I need to cite you as a cautionary tale to help *my* country. And the moral of that take is ‘yes, you can move too far left…Canada is what American voters think will happen when no one is putting a check on extreme wokeness”
When liberal comedians are using economic stats to call out Canada, you know its time to get back to the common sense that had us punching above our weight, instead of being a late-night punchline.
When Justin Trudeau took office, a Canadian household earning the median income could cover the costs of owning an average home by spending 39% of their pay, according to RBC. Now that figure is 64% https://t.co/U5fjK1A7ib 👇
BREAKING:
Blasting and Air Chisel work has been completed on Trudeau’s bust situated near Hope BC and marking the entrances to hwy’s 1,5 and 3 heading eastward to the liberal promise land. Crews are currently installing the freshly painted signature black hair piece made entirely out of BC mined copper. This 645 million dollar Trudeau Gov commissioned project will also include a bust of Chrystia Freeland. Engineers have discovered the rock where Chrystia Freeland’s bust is to be carved, to be extremely unstable, thus being a suitable location. Once completed, both busts together will gaze eastward. The large blasted and chiselled text at the bottom of both busts will display the words “DEFENDERS OF DEMOCRACY”
Footnote: The company that has this soul sourced contract just happens to be Mélonie Jolly’s uncle, according to insider sources. Trudeau says there is no conflict of interest and he has cleared it with the Ethics Commissioner.
Trudeau says the carbon tax will fund this project, so that Canadians won’t have to.
BREAKING NEWS
Trudeau sent in his MPs to try and shutdown the Premier of Alberta and Premier of New Brunswick from testifying tomorrow.
Trudeau wants to silence opposition to his 23% carbon tax increase, as he slaps it on Canadians on April 1.
Disgusting.
POLL: 80% of Canadians oppose April 1 MP pay raise.
Pay raise will range between estimated $8,100 - $16,200.
Why haven’t we heard a single MP from any party forcefully try to stop the pay raise?

On April 1, 2024 federal MPs will give themselves a 4% pay hike which is the 3-4 increase in pay they have received since 2020. If @PierrePoilievre wanted lead by example he would Axe the pay hike. @BlaineFCalkins
Is that really your talking point now?
If you don’t take money from people in the first place, you don’t need to give some of the money back.
Bonus: taxpayers won’t have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars for bureaucrats to administer to the carbon tax and rebate sham.
Newly released evidence shows that UNRWA teachers kidnapped young Israeli women on October 7 so why are @HonAhmedHussen and @JustinTrudeau ready to restore UNRWA's funding?
Do you supporting funding terrorism?

Alberta stands with Saskatchewan and Premier Scott Moe in their fight against the unfair and unconstitutional region-specific and fuel-specific application of the carbon tax. We agree the retail carbon tax should be scrapped and will continue to take every effort to see that it is overturned.
Further, it is utter hypocrisy to listen to Minister Stephen Guilbeault talk about the rule of law and unethical behaviour. This is the same man who scaled the CN tower illegally putting lives at risk, trespassed on the home of Ralph and Colleen Klein while Colleen was home alone, and tramples on the constitution of Canada on an almost daily basis as evidenced by his continued Supreme Court and federal court losses including on C-69 and plastics.
This man clearly resents the West and our right to develop our resources, and he is entirely unfit to be environment minister. It is long past time he be replaced by the Prime Minister.
