6.1 was such a good update, especially for these 2 and how it wordlessly demonstrated the true nature of their relationship, equivalency, and intimacy. And then 6.3 put words to those meaningful actions.

Not only is Jahoda the only one to run to Nefer’s side here, careless of the danger she’s putting herself in, but Nefer also swings her arm out at the last second to protect Jahoda and hold her back. I’ve watched this scene so many times I keep noticing new details #nefhoda

Making a full post for this bc I feel most won’t read my thread, but it’s wild to me how no one talks abt the blatant use of lighting here & what it says abt nefhoda specifically. That Jahoda is the only one allowed this close, the only one able to ease Nefer out from shadow.

Another favorite overlooked nefhoda moment of mine is just after Nefer uses the chess set for the first time in 6.1. Jahoda stays behind to help Nefer w her write up—Nefer’s routine & diction something only Jahoda’s familiar with. Which is inherently intimate on its own.

@starryeyedrose Knowing how hyv uses obscure lit. refs, it wouldn’t surprise me if those rare tales were inspo for laumabina’s rs. I believe they were & that it’s intended as romantic, at least. I hadn’t seen talk abt this prior tbh, but I can see ppl mistakenly using the names interchangeably

@starryeyedrose I did assme they were separate, but I also assumed they were both clearly inspo for her character. There are a number of iterations as it’s folklore, I just noticed the common thread being a deep (I’d argue) romantic connection to the moon but if that’s not right then yeah idk

@EvaRedux I’ve had people be rude to me in the past, but most are more reserved & selective about commenting on fics, especially for rare pairs. Which can be its own layer of frustrating, but at least it’s not what you see here
