1/? Actually, He did not make them immune to HIV. He used CRISPR to only alter the CCR5 gene. Also, he only modified one copy of the CCR5 gene, meaning the other one would still have receptors that made the baby unprotected from HIV.
This Doctor genetically edited the genes of twins babies which made them immune to HIV, their Dad had HIV and he didn't want to pass it down to his kids, so this Doctor edited their CCR5 genes out when they were embryos making the likelihood of them ever getting HIV to be 0.
