this discourse is ridiculous… the discussion shouldn’t be about what’s the real “natural” skin tone of koreans but rather WHY, as a culture, do they go so far as to further whiten their skin, whiten their pictures, and overall regard whiteness as something to be achieved

i've just realized i'm halfway through the last season of sex and the city. watching it intermittently since last year, and like everyone ever, i love it. it has become my comfort tv show. netflix's autoplay had me forgetting this is going to end at some point. SOON. take me back
all my notifications are off so i really can't get baited by any replies on that tweet sorry but it's a beautiful sunday and my days of passive agressive fighting on twitter are gone
@mmvdyyy believe me, i'm conscious of the ways my country is colorist and racist. you don't know me. it is because i am conscious and deeply concerned by it, that i feel the need to point out similar patterns in other cultures
@MAK_9_23 morally superior; i'm just pointing this out for discussion. in fact, in my country the older generations also have that same standards, so it's something i also experienced. i think we need to ask ourselves why keep perpetuating the standard that fairness/whiteness is the goal
@MAK_9_23 i never said that. in my tweet i also meant white = fair, light skin. i know you guys don't want to be racially caucasian, again, i never said that. but you can't lie and say that for most koreans having fair skin is the beauty standard. i'm not trying to sound judgemental or (+)
